Bandai Namco Entertainment made several major announcements for TEKKEN 8 during Evo 2026 in Las Vegas, headlined by the return of fan-favorite fighter Bob as the second DLC character in Season 3. The publisher debuted a new gameplay trailer showcasing the “Onigiri Savior” in action while confirming his release schedule for August. Alongside Bob’s reveal, Bandai Namco crowned Arslan Ash as the TEKKEN 8 Evo 2026 champion, announced the next TEKKEN World Tour Finals venue, and surprised fans with the reveal of TEKKEN! CARTOON, a new animated spin-off series set to premiere on July 10.
The announcements continue to build momentum for TEKKEN 8, which remains one of the franchise’s biggest releases. Bob’s return introduces another classic character to the Season 3 roster, while the cartoon series expands the franchise beyond gaming with a lighter take on several iconic fighters.
Bob returns to TEKKEN 8 as Season 3’s second DLC fighter
Originally introduced in TEKKEN 6, Bob returns to TEKKEN 8 with his signature combination of speed and powerful martial arts despite his heavy build. Bandai Namco showcased the character in a new gameplay trailer during Evo, confirming that he will join the roster in August.
According to the game’s updated story, Bob is recovering in a hospital after suffering a brutal defeat at the hands of Bryan before the King of Iron Fist Tournament 7. Frustrated by the hospital’s food, he creates his own burger recipe, eventually launching the successful Bob’s Onigiri restaurant chain. His newfound business success ultimately leads him back into conflict with Kazuya Mishima, as Bob once again sets out to fight for justice.
Bob will become available for Season Pass 3 owners in North America on August 19, 2026, while all players can purchase him separately beginning August 24, 2026. He joins Kunimitsu, with Roger Jr. and Yujiro Hanma also scheduled as part of the Season 3 Pass.
TEKKEN! CARTOON and World Tour Finals also announced

Beyond the new DLC fighter, Bandai Namco revealed TEKKEN! CARTOON, an official animated spin-off series debuting on July 10, 2026. The first season will feature bite-sized episodes lasting under one minute each and will spotlight Paul, Yoshimitsu, Kazuya, Alisa, and Kuma.
The series adopts a cute cartoon art style paired with original music, offering a humorous take on some of TEKKEN’s most recognizable characters.
Bandai Namco also celebrated the competitive side of the franchise by crowning Arslan Ash as the TEKKEN 8 Evo 2026 champion in Las Vegas. Looking ahead, the company confirmed that the TEKKEN World Tour 2026 Finals will take place from January 14 to January 17, 2027, during Evo Singapore 2027.
The latest announcements demonstrate Bandai Namco’s continued support for TEKKEN 8 through new playable content, expanded media projects, and major esports events. With Bob arriving in August and TEKKEN! CARTOON launching in July, fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
