Stephen John Ward, who plays Dracule Mihawk in Netflix’s live-action One Piece, recently shared a humorous take on Roronoa Zoro’s iconic hairstyle during a rapid-fire interview segment titled “One Piece One Minute Chat.”
The short interview challenged Ward to answer a series of questions within sixty seconds, encouraging quick and spontaneous responses. During the lightning-round conversation, the actor was asked what color Zoro’s hair should be if it were not the character’s signature green.
“I don’t know. Pink. I would pay money to see Mackenyu with pink hair!”
Zoro’s green hair has long been one of the character’s most recognizable traits in both Eiichiro Oda’s manga and the anime adaptation. In Netflix’s live-action series, the look was faithfully recreated by actor Mackenyu, who portrays the Straw Hat crew’s swordsman.
Although Ward’s comment was clearly made in jest, the idea of Zoro sporting pink hair quickly stood out as one of the more amusing moments from the one-minute interview.
The segment featured several other rapid-fire questions about One Piece, anime, and Ward’s personal preferences. When asked about his favorite One Piece character besides Mihawk, he named Nami. He also revealed that the first anime that comes to mind after One Piece is Bleach, followed by Dragon Ball Z.
While the interview lasted only a minute, it offered fans a lighthearted glimpse of Ward’s personality and his playful sense of humor when talking about the world of One Piece.
