Star Wars Zero Company has reached an estimated 1 million copies sold, generating around $50 million in revenue since its August 27 launch. The figures come from Alinea Analytics and highlight the commercial performance of a game built around a relatively niche genre, turn-based tactical strategy, rather than one of Star Wars’ more established action-oriented formats.

According to Alinea Analytics’ estimates, Steam accounts for 69.9% of the game’s sales, while PlayStation represents 19.9% and Xbox accounts for 10.2%, including Xbox PC. The company described the game’s roughly $50 million revenue as a respectable result for its genre, particularly given the crowded 2026 release calendar.

Zero Company Turns a Niche Strategy Genre Into a $50 Million Star Wars Success

Developed by Bit Reactor with support from Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player tactical game set during the final days of the Clone Wars. Its combat is heavily inspired by games such as XCOM, which is fitting given Bit Reactor’s connection to former Firaxis developers.

The game’s commercial performance is particularly notable because turn-based strategy remains considerably more specialized than genres such as action-adventure or open-world games. Alinea’s data also shows that 28% of Zero Company players on Steam had previously played XCOM 2, suggesting that the game’s tactical identity attracted an established strategy audience alongside Star Wars fans.

The Star Wars audience was equally important. On Steam, 32% of Zero Company players had previously played Star Wars: The Old Republic, while 24% had played Battlefront 2 and another 24% had played Jedi: Fallen Order.

Sales are only part of the story. Zero Company also earned an 86 Metacritic score for its PC version at launch, making it the highest-rated Star Wars game in roughly 22 years at the time of its release.

That reception helped distinguish the game from recent Star Wars releases. Its score sits above Jedi Survivor, Fallen Order and Outlaws, although several older Star Wars games remain ahead of it.

Bit Reactor game director Greg Foertsch described the critical response as a “surreal” moment when speaking with VGC shortly after launch.

The game’s success is also part of a larger 2026 trend. Alinea estimates that games based on non-game entertainment properties have generated more than $900 million this year. 007 First Light leads that group with an estimated $309.8 million, followed by LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at more than $165 million.

For Zero Company, however, the bigger takeaway is that a Star Wars game does not necessarily need to be a massive action blockbuster to find an audience. A million sales and approximately $50 million in revenue demonstrate that a focused strategy game can still become a meaningful commercial success when a major entertainment franchise is paired with a genre that suits it.
