Champion Discusses Differences in Leadership
According to Zayn, McMahon saw him more as a “bad guy” champion. He believes McMahon liked Zayn’s ability to be an annoying character, which could work for a heel champion.
More importantly, Zayn feels McMahon’s leadership was less predictable. There was always a chance, a “marble falling into the right hole,” that could have made Zayn champion.
Zayn believes things are different under Triple H. Triple H seems to have a long-term plan, and if you’re not in that plan, it’s harder to break in. While this could mean Zayn fits the plan better, it also removes the element of chance.
Zayn made it clear he still wants to be a World Champion someday. He gives his all in every match and hopes his performances will eventually lead him there. But he also understands it might not happen, and he’s grateful for his career so far.
