RIIZE has officially released the music video for its new digital single ‘Insomnia,’ showcasing a more emotional and cinematic side of the group.

The SM Entertainment boy group explores the feelings associated with sleepless nights and longing for someone special, combining expressive acting with a story-driven visual presentation.

Released on October 26, the music video features all six members in emotionally charged scenes that portray the complicated feelings that can emerge when someone cannot fall asleep.

Through dramatic storytelling and individual character portrayals, the members reveal a different side of their artistry, moving beyond their familiar performance-focused image.

The new single also serves as a preview of RIIZE’s upcoming second full-length album, ‘EMOTIION,’ which is scheduled for release in spring 2027.

With ‘Insomnia,’ the group is exploring a more subdued musical atmosphere while continuing its distinctive approach to emotional pop.

‘Insomnia’ Music Video Highlights the Members’ Acting Skills

The music video for ‘Insomnia’ adopts a drama-style format, with each of RIIZE’s six members portraying a different character.

Rather than relying solely on choreography, the video uses cinematic scenes and emotional performances to bring the song’s central theme to life.

The story focuses on people who struggle to fall asleep as their thoughts and feelings grow more intense throughout the night.

The members portray different experiences of longing and emotional restlessness, creating a narrative that connects their individual characters.

The production also features visual transformations designed to reflect the personalities and circumstances of each character.

These changes allow the members to explore different expressions and moods while giving the music video a more dramatic atmosphere.

The project extends beyond the main video through character-based side stories created in collaboration with novelist Cheon Seon Ran and illustrator Noma.

Cheon Seon Ran wrote the individual stories, while Noma contributed illustrations using an opaque-watercolor technique.

The collaboration brings literature, illustration, and music together to expand the world surrounding the single.

This is not the first time RIIZE has explored drama-inspired storytelling. The group previously used a narrative-driven format for its 2024 release ‘Love 119,’ which portrayed the excitement and emotions associated with first love.

With ‘Insomnia,’ RIIZE revisits the approach through a different emotional perspective.

New Single Previews RIIZE’s Upcoming Full-Length Album

‘Insomnia’ is an acoustic pop track built around lyrical guitar sounds and the members’ restrained yet expressive vocals.

Its quiet, reflective atmosphere complements lyrics about thoughts of a loved one becoming more vivid as the night progresses.

The song was created with contributions from the production team The Stereotypes and composer August Rigo, while lyricist Kim Eana worked on the Korean lyrics.

The arrangement places emphasis on the vocal performances, allowing the song’s emotional qualities to take centre stage.

The release also received a creative promotional campaign ahead of its launch. RIIZE introduced the ‘INSOMNIA SHEEP GAME,’ an interactive game inspired by the difficulty of falling asleep.

According to reports, approximately 70,000 people played the game within its first hour, drawing considerable attention from fans.

Following the single’s release, RIIZE is scheduled to continue promotions through a fan event titled ‘RIIZE into INSOMNIA’ in Seoul, alongside appearances on televised music programmes.

The new single arrives ahead of the group’s second full-length album, ‘EMOTIION,’ planned for spring 2027.

While fans await the full album, ‘Insomnia’ offers an early look at RIIZE’s evolving musical direction and its continued interest in storytelling.

With its cinematic music video, character-driven narrative, and emotional acoustic sound, ‘Insomnia’ presents a fresh chapter for RIIZE as the group prepares for its next major album release.
