The drama in Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP) continues to escalate, but this time, it’s spilling over from the television screen into real-life legal trouble.
In October 2025, RHOP stars Wendy and Eddie Osefo were arrested on multiple fraud charges related to an alleged burglary they reported in 2024.
While Season 10 of the show has already focused on Karen Huger’s DUI arrest and prison sentence, Wendy and Eddie’s legal issues may dominate discussions at the Season 10 reunion.
The Arrest and Charges
Wendy Osefo was arrested on 16 counts of fraud, including seven felony charges, for allegedly providing false or misleading information in excess of $300.

She also faces a misdemeanor count of making a false statement to an officer. Eddie Osefo, her husband, faced 18 charges: nine felony counts of false or misleading information fraud exceeding $300, eight misdemeanor counts of the same, and one misdemeanor charge for making a false statement to an officer.
According to TMZ, who first reported the arrest, these charges stemmed from a 2024 incident in which Wendy claimed her home had been burglarized while the family was on a trip to Jamaica. She alleged that multiple designer bags and pieces of jewelry were stolen.
Discrepancies in the Burglary Report
Court documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed significant inconsistencies in Wendy’s burglary claim.
Authorities noted that “there was a screen with damage lying on the roof, and the window was not locked,” and that “to go in or out of that window, one has to step on the toilet.”
Additionally, Wendy and Eddie had installed an ADT system and a Ring camera but claimed the devices detected no motion inside the home, despite visible package deliveries being recorded.
Eddie also made statements to two insurance companies regarding the alleged stolen items.
According to documents, Eddie failed to disclose to Homesite and Jewelers Mutual Insurance that he was simultaneously making a claim with Travelers Insurance.

Initially, he told Travelers that both he and Wendy were wearing their anniversary bands during the loss, but later claimed Wendy’s gold wedding band was stolen.
Travelers reportedly settled the claim for $25,380, which prompted authorities to investigate further.
Social Media Evidence and Financial Pressure
During the investigation, deputies reportedly discovered Wendy wearing the disputed wedding band on social media.
Authorities also noted that the couple was burdened by substantial debt, which may have contributed to the alleged fraudulent claims.
Following their arrest, Wendy and Eddie were both released on $50,000 bail each.
Wendy Osefo’s Background and Net Worth
Wendy Osefo has been a prominent figure on RHOP for several years, building a multifaceted career both on and off television.
The Nigerian-American political commentator-turned-reality-star has a net worth estimated at $1.5 million.
Before joining RHOP, Wendy appeared as a political commentator on CNN. She is also a published author, professor, and entrepreneur, having launched her home collection, Onyi Home, in 2021.
Business Ventures and Family Life
In 2022, Wendy and Eddie expanded into the cannabis industry with their line, Happy Eddie.
The idea reportedly came from Wendy’s RHOP castmates, who highlighted Eddie’s cheerful demeanor as inspiration for the brand.
During the Season 10 premiere, the couple discussed the lucrative nature of the cannabis business for their family.
Wendy and Eddie have been married since 2011 and are parents to three children: Karter, Kruz, and Kamrynn.
Despite their professional successes and family life, their recent legal troubles have cast a shadow over their public image.
What This Means for RHOP Season 10
The Osefos’ arrest adds a real-life legal twist to Season 10 of RHOP, which has already captivated viewers with Karen Huger’s DUI case.
With Wendy and Eddie facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, fans are likely to see references to the incident during the reunion episodes.
The combination of on-screen drama and off-screen legal controversy underscores the blurred lines between reality TV entertainment and real-life consequences for the stars involved.
Wendy and Eddie Osefo’s arrests for alleged fraud following their 2024 burglary report mark one of the most shocking real-life developments in RHOP history.
With multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, social media scrutiny, and financial implications, the couple faces a serious legal battle.
Meanwhile, viewers will be watching closely to see how this off-screen controversy impacts the show’s narrative and the Osefos’ portrayal on Season 10.
