Resident Evil 4 (2023) sold 3.54 million copies during the six months ended September 30, 2026, bringing its lifetime sales to 17.15 million units, according to Capcom’s FY2026 first-half financial report. The latest figures reinforce the remake’s long-term commercial success as players continue to return to one of the publisher’s best-known survival horror games.

The sales figures appear in Capcom’s financial report under its Digital Contents business, which tracks the performance of individual game titles. The reporting period covers April through September 2026, rather than the latest three-month quarter alone.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Adds 3.54 Million Sales

Released in March 2023, Resident Evil 4 reimagines Leon S. Kennedy’s mission to rescue the US president’s daughter from a mysterious rural community. The remake modernises the original game’s combat, exploration and survival horror mechanics while retaining its central storyline.

Its latest sales performance stands out among Capcom’s established releases. The game added 3.54 million units during the six-month reporting period, raising its cumulative total to 17.15 million. The figures show that the remake continues to find buyers years after launch, rather than relying only on its initial release window.

Capcom’s results also highlight the strength of its broader Resident Evil catalogue, with both recent releases and older remakes contributing to the franchise’s commercial performance.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is part of a wider commercial success for Capcom’s horror franchise. The company’s financial report places cumulative Resident Evil sales at 218 million units worldwide. Other catalogue titles also performed well, including the Resident Evil 2 remake, which reached 20.38 million lifetime sales.

Capcom sold 36.86 million game units across its catalogue during the first half of fiscal year 2026, up from 23.85 million in the same period a year earlier. Catalogue titles accounted for 32.18 million units, demonstrating how established games continue to support the company alongside newer releases.

The continued demand for Resident Evil 4 shows the commercial value of revisiting popular games with modern visuals and updated gameplay. With lifetime sales now at 17.15 million, the remake remains one of Capcom’s major performers as the publisher builds on the franchise’s global popularity.
