The official staff revealed the first teaser promotional video for Rent-A-Girlfriend season 4 at Anime Japan 2025 on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The teaser confirmed that the fourth installment will premiere in July 2025 and follow a split cour release format. Although an exact release date is yet to be announced, the anime’s official website and social media accounts have confirmed the upcoming adaptation of the Hawaii Trip Arc from Reiji Miyajima’s rom-com manga.

Rent-A-Girlfriend season 4 is a direct sequel to the previous season, which aired from July 2023 to September 2023 with 12 episodes. The anime adapts Reiji Miyajima’s manga series of the same name, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 2017. As of now, the manga has released 39 tankobon volumes.

The special DMM TV/DMM.com stage at Anime Japan 2025 featured the voice cast, including Shun Horie (Kazuya Kinoshita), Sora Amamiya (Chizuru Ichinose), and Nao Toyama (Ruka Sarashina). Toward the end of the event, the staff revealed the teaser promotional video, offering a first look at the Hawaii Trip Arc.

The teaser showcases Chizuru, Ruka, and Sumi in summer-themed outfits, including swimsuits. Ruka is also seen wearing a maid costume, while Sumi appears dressed as a nurse. The PV hints at key moments from the Hawaii Trip Arc, where Chizuru and the others visit Hawaii. The teaser also features Mami Nanami, who knows the truth about Kazuya and Chizuru’s relationship, hinting at emotional confrontations.

Additionally, the staff revealed the second date visual for Rent-A-Girlfriend season 4. The visual features Mami standing on a train platform, holding a semi-transparent umbrella, with hydrangea flowers in the background. The seasonal theme of the visual contrasts with the first date visual, which depicted Chizuru at the station. The imagery reflects the emotional undertones of the series’ upcoming arc.

Cast, staff, and story direction

The fourth installment will feature returning cast members, including Shun Horie as Kazuya, Aoi Yuki as Mami, Nao Toyama as Ruka, Sora Amamiya as Chizuru, Yu Serizawa as Mini, and Rie Takahashi as Sumi. The returning cast ensures continuity with the previous seasons, maintaining the established character dynamics.

Kazuomi Koga will direct Rent-A-Girlfriend season 4 at TMS Entertainment. Mitsutaka Hirota will oversee the series composition, while Kanna Hirayama is credited as the character designer. Shintaro Sakai will handle the photography direction, with Yumiko Nakaba as the editor. Hyadain is responsible for composing the series’ music. The experienced production team suggests that the new season will retain the animation quality and narrative style of the earlier seasons.

Based on Reiji Miyajima’s manga, the fourth season is expected to adapt from chapter 168 onward. The Hawaii Trip Arc will likely explore the growing bond between Kazuya and Chizuru while also addressing unresolved tensions with Mami and Ruka. The teaser suggests that the season will blend romantic tension with comedic moments, reflecting the tone of the original manga.
