Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls, offering the first extended look at the upcoming unscripted series that pairs renowned adventurer Bear Grylls with the cast and creator of The Chosen. Premiering on August 9, 2026, the six-episode series takes familiar faces from the hit biblical drama into some of North America’s toughest landscapes, where physical challenges become the backdrop for deeply personal conversations about faith, resilience, and life beyond the screen.

Unlike the scripted world of The Chosen, the new series places its stars in unpredictable environments where they must rely on teamwork, determination, and Bear Grylls’ survival expertise. The newly released trailer highlights daring moments that include skydiving, cliff climbing, ziplining across canyons, and even eating scorpions. At the same time, it teases intimate discussions that explore the beliefs and experiences that have shaped each participant. With all six episodes launching simultaneously on Prime Video, viewers will be able to experience every adventure from day one.

Bear Grylls leads The Chosen stars into the wilderness

The series features Jonathan Roumie (Jesus), Paras Patel (Matthew), Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), Noah James (Andrew), Luke Dimyan (Judas), and The Chosen creator and executive producer Dallas Jenkins. Instead of portraying biblical characters, the group appears as themselves while tackling demanding survival challenges across rugged American landscapes.

According to the official description, the adventures span locations including Utah’s Castle Valley, Canyonlands, the Ausable River, the Colorado River, the Great Basin Desert, and the Adirondack Forest. Throughout these expeditions, Bear Grylls encourages his guests to push beyond their comfort zones while opening up about faith, spirituality, and the experiences that have shaped their personal journeys.

For decades, Grylls has built a reputation through survival series such as Man vs. Wild, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, and The Island with Bear Grylls. His Christian faith also plays an important role in the new series, making it a natural fit alongside The Chosen, a show that has attracted a global audience through its character-driven portrayal of the life of Jesus.

The newly released trailer emphasizes that The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls is more than a survival series. While viewers will see participants leap from airplanes, climb towering rock formations, cross deep canyons on ziplines, and face unusual food challenges, the series also focuses on meaningful conversations away from the pressures of a television set.

Prime Video describes the show as an opportunity to see the cast and creator “as audiences have never seen them before.” The wilderness becomes a setting where emotional honesty and spiritual reflection are just as important as overcoming physical obstacles.

All six episodes will be available at launch in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Sub-Saharan Africa, allowing international audiences to watch the complete season immediately after release.

Part of Prime Video’s growing partnership with The Chosen

The series is produced by 5&2 Studios alongside The Natural Studios and Workerbee, with Robert Austin Vanover directing all six episodes. Executive producers include Bear Grylls, Dallas Jenkins, Brad Pelo, Katherine Warnock, Ben Simon, Delbert Shoopman, Ben Mitchell, Rick Murray, Brent Ryan Green, Ryan Swanson, and Tyler Thompson.

The project also expands the long-term partnership established in 2025 between Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. Under the agreement, Prime Video secured streaming rights to the first five seasons of The Chosen, as well as The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls, The Chosen Adventures, and Joseph of Egypt. The deal also includes theatrical and streaming rights for the drama’s final two seasons, which will cover the Crucifixion and Resurrection.

Prime Video also confirmed that Season Six of The Chosen will premiere on November 15, 2026, with its finale planned as a standalone theatrical release in spring 2027. Meanwhile, Seasons One through Five are already available to stream on the platform, giving fans a chance to revisit the story before both new projects arrive later this year.
