One Piece has officially launched in Arabic for the first time through Manga Arabia, a subsidiary of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG). The digital release includes more than 100 chapters, giving Arabic-speaking fans access to Eiichiro Oda’s long-running pirate adventure through official channels.
According to Arab News, the launch builds on Manga Arabia’s partnerships with major Japanese publishers, including Shueisha, which publishes One Piece in Japan. The company aims to make popular international manga accessible to Arab readers while continuing to develop original Arabic content and support regional creators.
MANGA ARABIA FOCUSES ON TRANSLATION QUALITY
Manga Arabia General Manager and Editor-in-Chief Dr. Essam Bukhary described the release as an important milestone, highlighting the series’ worldwide popularity and longstanding connection with Arab readers. He said the company wants to bring major international titles to the region through official channels that protect copyright and preserve the original work.

Production Manager Noura Al-Jumaili explained that the Arabic edition went through translation, review, proofreading, and dialogue adjustments to fit the original artwork. These steps aim to maintain the manga’s identity while delivering an accurate reading experience.
Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. The franchise has sold more than 600 million copies worldwide and has been published across more than 60 countries and regions. It also holds a Guinness World Record for the most copies published for a comic book series by a single author.
Manga Arabia reports more than 13 million app downloads across over 190 countries, giving the Arabic release an established digital platform for reaching readers.
