The Kamen Rider franchise is getting ready to celebrate its 55th anniversary with a brand-new series. As Kamen Rider ZEZTZ approaches its finale, Toei Animation has officially released new teaser trailers for Kamen Rider MY-TH, giving fans their best look yet at the next hero.
The latest footage introduces the story, key characters, and creative team behind the upcoming series. With its zodiac-inspired theme and a fresh new Rider leading the action, Kamen Rider MY-TH is already building excitement ahead of its premiere in September 2026.
Sora Otosumi Leads the New Kamen Rider Series
The main character of Kamen Rider MY-TH is Sora Otosumi, a hardworking young man who works for the wealthy Mizuki family. He takes on many jobs, including cleaning, cooking, studying, and fighting, while also having a well-known love for cheese.
Sora’s life changes after he becomes involved in a battle between two ancient groups. He soon finds himself fighting to protect others as powerful enemies return after many years.
The new series also pays tribute to the original Kamen Rider from 1971. While the first hero was inspired by a grasshopper, Kamen Rider MY-TH introduces a mouse-themed Rider, giving the anniversary season a fresh take while honoring the franchise’s roots.
The Twelve Animal Signs Return
The story revolves around the Zyunishi Doumei, also known as the Twelve Animal Signs. Inspired by the Chinese zodiac, these warriors once fought against mysterious monsters called the Fukashigi over 100 years ago.
After their historic battle, both sides disappeared for many years. In the present day, they have awakened once again, bringing an old conflict back to life.
The return of these powerful groups sets the stage for a new battle. Sora is drawn into the conflict as he discovers his role in protecting the world from the growing threat.
New Riders Join the Battle
The leader of the Twelve Animal Signs is Kamuri Minetaka, who transforms into Kamen Rider MAOU. He is a cat-themed Rider and is described as the strongest member of the zodiac team.
Another important character is Yuna Mizuki, who creates the Mysterious Case Study Group to investigate the strange monsters and the Riders fighting against them. Her research becomes an important part of the story.
The new trailers also introduce several more Riders, including Kamen Rider TIGRE, Kamen Rider DATT, Kamen Rider MUTTON, Kamen Rider KEI, and Kamen Rider VANKEN. Together, they make up one of the franchise’s biggest Rider lineups in recent years.
