Netflix has officially revealed the title of Brad Pitt’s upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follow-up. The new film is called The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth and will see Pitt reprise his Oscar-winning role as the stuntman and longtime companion of Rick Dalton.
The movie is directed by David Fincher from a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino, marking an unusual creative collaboration between the two acclaimed filmmakers.
Cliff Booth Returns to a Different Hollywood
The story takes place in 1977, eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and follows Cliff Booth as he navigates a Hollywood that has changed dramatically. Netflix confirmed that the film will receive an exclusive two-week global IMAX run beginning November 25 before arriving on the streaming platform on December 23.
The new cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian. Pitt and Ceán Chaffin are producing the feature.
The project is particularly notable because Tarantino wrote the screenplay but chose not to direct. Speaking on the Church of Tarantino podcast, he previously explained his decision by saying,
“I love this script, but I’m still walking down the same ground I’ve already walked,”
adding that the idea
“just kind of unenthused me.”
Brad Pitt won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing Cliff Booth in the 2019 original, making The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth a major return for one of his most celebrated characters.
