NCT WISH has officially released its new Japanese single “YO-I-DON!” on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by an energetic new music video that captures the group’s youthful charm. The song serves as one of the two title tracks from the group’s latest Japanese single album, YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL, completing the double-title rollout ahead of the album’s physical release in Japan on July 15.

The launch comes at a time of growing popularity for the SM Entertainment boy group, which recently wrapped up four sold-out fan meeting shows at Keio Arena Tokyo. With approximately 40,000 fans attending across two days, the events highlighted NCT WISH’s expanding presence in Japan. Combining bright melodies, vibrant visuals, and an optimistic message, “YO-I-DON!” continues the group’s momentum while reinforcing the youthful identity that has become its trademark.

‘YO-I-DON!’ Delivers an Upbeat Summer Sound

Built around a Eurobeat-inspired dance-pop style, “YO-I-DON!” takes its name from the Japanese phrase used to signal the start of a race. The song reflects the excitement of beginning a new journey and encourages listeners to chase their dreams with confidence and positivity.

Its energetic production, catchy chorus, and feel-good atmosphere position the track as a summer anthem that aligns perfectly with NCT WISH’s bright image. The release follows “BOY MEETS GIRL,” which debuted on June 22, completing the group’s two-title promotional strategy for the new Japanese single album before its physical release.

The accompanying music video expands on the song’s playful concept by following the members as they compete for Cupid’s Golden Wings Trophy. Filled with imaginative challenges, colorful settings, and lighthearted storytelling, the video showcases the members’ personalities while matching the song’s cheerful energy.

Sold-Out Japan Fan Meetings Showcase Growing Popularity

The release arrives shortly after NCT WISH held four sold-out fan meeting performances at Keio Arena Tokyo on July 11 and 12. The events attracted around 40,000 fans, demonstrating the group’s rapidly growing fanbase in Japan.

The fan meetings continued the fantasy-inspired storyline first introduced during the group’s second-anniversary event in South Korea earlier this year. Under the theme I Didn’t Know Six Princes Were Going to Propose, the shows blended romance-fantasy elements with interactive segments and live performances, including songs from YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL, which received enthusiastic reactions from attendees.

NCT WISH consists of six members—SION, RIKU, YUSHI, JAEHEE, RYO, and SAKUYA—and serves as the final unit of SM Entertainment’s global NCT brand. Based primarily in Japan while promoting internationally, the group has built its identity around the message “WISH for Our WISH,” focusing on hope, positivity, and connecting with fans through music.

Their recent achievements further underline that growth. After being recognized by GRAMMY.com as one of the “11 Rookie K-Pop Acts To Know in 2024,” NCT WISH recorded the highest album sales among rookie artists that year. Their first full-length album Ode to Love also became the group’s third consecutive million-selling release, following the success of the mini albums poppop and COLOR.

With “YO-I-DON!” now available digitally and physical editions of YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL arriving in Japan on July 15, NCT WISH continues to strengthen its position as one of K-pop’s fastest-rising new-generation groups.
