The ZEE5 movie Nail Polish is a suspenseful courtroom drama. It discusses a horrifying case involving the murder of 38 immigrant children. When the investigation into the case starts, it delves further into the complexities surrounding numerous identities, leaving the case open and justice unfulfilled.

The conclusion included a lot more, though. Read on to learn the explanation for the movie’s ending if you were perplexed and desperately trying to come up with explanations. The trailer promises suspenseful storytelling based on the idea of immigrant children and a court case involving their kidnapping and murder.

The courtroom drama won’t just focus on a murder trial; along the road, deeper subplots will be revealed. The gripping courtroom mystery Nail Polish on ZEE5 takes us on a wild adventure. There is no other courtroom drama like this one.

Lawyer Jaisingh and Lawyer Amit Kumar strive to establish Veer Singh’s innocence when he is charged with the rape and death of two (or, as you know, it could have been 38) migrant children.

Plot Of The Movie

There are numerous witnesses and evidence, yet it is still unclear whether Veer Singh killed the victims. That is essentially what the film conveys. However, Veer sustains significant trauma after wounding the jail’s goon chief and being beaten by them.

As a result, his mind suddenly switches to the identity of a lady named Charu Raina. In any case, Veer wants everyone, including the audience, to think that. Veer’s refusal to cease the act even in front of Jaisingh is the turning point in the story, which has previously led everyone to believe that he is only acting out to prove to everyone that he is mentally ill.

Veer (or now Charu) is unable to understand Jaisingh’s attempts to persuade him that dropping the act will assist the situation. The spectator is persuaded at this moment that the identity splitting is unquestionably not an act, as well as when the convicts begin to sexually assault Charu (or Veer?).

Shivkumar Subramaniam, the movie’s psychiatrist, explains to the judge and the attorneys that trauma might result in identity issues. The (false?) accusation and the beating in jail were Veer’s two main sources of trauma. We learn more about his past and how his mind came to assume the identity of the 32-year-old Kashmiri lady while he is hypnotized in his Charu persona.

Jaisingh requests a mistrial in response to this information, which would mean that the case would be dismissed because Veer Singh, his client, is no longer alive. One more time, prosecutor Amit Kumar tries to persuade the court that everything is a ruse. However, the judge decides in Jaisingh’s favor, putting the case into a coma. Justice is not served to the parents of the murdered children.

However, the judge also declares that Veer Singh will always remain in the government’s psychiatric facility and that the case will resume from the beginning if he ever briefly remembers who he is. If you pay close attention, Manav Kaul tends to fidget with a paperweight while waiting for his hearing in the movie. And he always sits fearfully when he takes on the identity of Charu.

As soon as the verdict is read, Charu picks up the paperweight once more. Where did she get that solace from? We are all sent into a frenzy by Veer/Charu’s final glance at the camera while holding the paperweight. This final glance and the paperweight do indicate that Charu’s meek demeanor was all Veer’s doing to save him a life sentence for his crimes.

The extent to which he was a psychopath can be used to explain how he endured all the traumas in prison while posing as Charu and never lost control. If he did kill, torture, and abuse the children, he was a psychopath who could even endure his suffering to survive and avoid being put in jail.

It might also imply that Charu simply chose the paperweight out of curiosity and that the claimed identity was accurate. Alternately, this could mean that Veer’s dissociative identity disorder is real, and this was the emergence of a third personality. This finale, which makes us think of the movie Shutter Island, raises a lot of questions. The most plausible explanation, however, is that Veer was alone responsible.

Nail Polish Movie Ending Explained

After being beaten up in jail, Singh, in an extraordinary turn of events, assumes the character of Charu Raina, complete with cosmetics and “nail polish.” It’s simple to overlook the specifics of the movie’s climax because there are so many elements shown to the audience.

Under hypnosis, Singh takes on Charu’s personality and starts to reveal information about her background. She is originally from Kashmir, where she spent ten years in an unhappy marriage before the movie’s events. There, she met Singh, posing as Ranjeet, to catch a businessman while he was an undercover agent.

They ultimately started dating. According to Charu, she helped Ranjeet entice the businessman by getting migrant kids to pose as students at an underprivileged school to trick him. When she confronted Ranjeet, he revealed his entire strategy and his purpose before killing her to conceal his identity.

There is, however, a cloud of uncertainty over the entire narrative because it isn’t clear if Singh is fabricating the personality disorder or not. The focus of the trial moves from Singh’s conviction to whether it should even proceed, given that his personality appears to be missing.

The fact that “Charu” attends wearing more cosmetics and “nail polish” suggests that her personality is even more influential. Amit Singh (Anand Tiwary), the prosecution’s attorney, keeps accusing Singh/Charu of fabricating both the disorder and the narrative.

Jaisingh provides logical reasons for each accusation made by the prosecution that is consistent with the story. He begs the judge to declare a mistrial, claiming that Veer Singh has already been “killed” by the case. Although Veer Singh’s body is in the courtroom, Judge Bhushan (Rajit Kapoor) adjourns the case indefinitely because, in his words, “Veer Singh’s mind seems to be missing.”

He does, however, order Singh to receive treatment at a government mental facility, and the trial will proceed as soon as Singh’s conscience returns. Veer would be forced to play the part for the rest of his life if he were to fake the disorder, preventing him from ever leading a regular life once more.

Following the announcement of the decision, the camera moves in closer to Veer Singh, whose focused gaze suggests that either the entire affair was a façade or that his memories have come back. The conclusion is left vague so that each spectator can invent their conclusion.

Cast Of The Movie

Sid Jaisingh, played by Arjun Rampal, is a well-known defense attorney who is promised a Rajya Sabha seat if he wins Veer Singh’s case. Sid Jaisingh is a well-known defense attorney. In this instance, he stands up for Veer Singh, a suspect charged with the murder of migrant children.

The role of Jaisingh is complex. The trailer shows how the court case shocks the attorney as well as he witnesses the facts. The actor Manav Kaul portrays Veer Singh. Veer Singh is charged with the murder of two immigrant children. Time travels back and forth in Nail Polish’s narrative. Veer Singh’s diverse personality is revealed in this way. As the trailer opens, he appears to be innocent.

Amit Kumar is portrayed by Anand Tiwari in Nail Polish. Amit Kumar, the prosecutor, spars with Sid Jaisingh. By locating the murderer and establishing his guilt in court, he is attempting to bring about justice for the kidnapped children. Although he is known for being fair and just, his personal life is pretty much a mess.

In the movie, Rajit Kapoor portrays Judge Bhushan. As Judge Bhushan, Kapoor’s persona presides over the ongoing court proceedings. His character will experience several depths as he attempts to distinguish between black and white because his call will be the last one.

With Nail Polish, 90s star Madhoo Shah makes her OTT debut. She plays Judge Bhushan’s wife; she is a lot younger than he is, and the two of them have a tense marriage. She is well-known for her performances in movies like Phool Aur Kaante and Roja.

Samreen Kaur portrays Charu Raina. Her character hasn’t been fully revealed. However, the movie makes indications regarding her relationship with Veer Singh’s character.
