With over 2.3 million copies in circulation and 28 volumes released in Japan, Murciélago’s transition to anime has been one of the most anticipated adaptations in recent years. The Murciélago anime is officially scheduled for 2027, as part of HIDIVE’s global streaming lineup. The adaptation will cover the manga’s signature blend of crime, action, and psychological tension, focusing on its morally complex world where justice and violence blur together.
The story follows Kuroko Koumori, a former death-row inmate turned state-sanctioned executioner, and her partner Hinako Tozakura, a skilled driver with extraordinary abilities. Together, they operate as an unpredictable duo confronting society’s darkest crimes.
HIDIVE, operated by AMC Global Media, will exclusively stream Murciélago across multiple territories, strengthening its 2027 anime catalog. The platform confirmed availability in major English-speaking regions, ensuring wide accessibility for international audiences.

The anime is being directed by Takashi Naoya as Chief Director, alongside Director Matsuo Asami. The series is a collaboration between Satelight and Staple Entertainment, two studios known for visually dynamic and stylistically bold productions.
