Known for its bold storytelling and intense crime-action themes, the series has built a strong global fanbase since its debut in 2013. The anime adaptation was revealed alongside a super teaser PV, key visual, and commemorative illustration from creator Kana Yoshimura, marking a major milestone for the franchise.

The announcement also confirmed that HIDIVE will exclusively stream the series in key regions including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. With over 2.3 million copies in circulation and 28 volumes released in Japan, Murciélago’s transition to anime has been one of the most anticipated adaptations in recent years. The project aims to bring its dark, stylish, and chaotic world to life with high-end animation production.

Murciélago Anime Adaptation Set for 2027 Release

The Murciélago anime is officially scheduled for 2027, as part of HIDIVE’s global streaming lineup. The adaptation will cover the manga’s signature blend of crime, action, and psychological tension, focusing on its morally complex world where justice and violence blur together.

The story follows Kuroko Koumori, a former death-row inmate turned state-sanctioned executioner, and her partner Hinako Tozakura, a skilled driver with extraordinary abilities. Together, they operate as an unpredictable duo confronting society’s darkest crimes.

HIDIVE, operated by AMC Global Media, will exclusively stream Murciélago across multiple territories, strengthening its 2027 anime catalog. The platform confirmed availability in major English-speaking regions, ensuring wide accessibility for international audiences.

This exclusive streaming arrangement positions Murciélago as a key title in HIDIVE’s strategy to expand premium anime offerings worldwide.
