Plot Of The Movie
Even though he had a good amount of responsibility on his shoulders and his physical state was getting worse, Shelby Conners was leading a peaceful life. Shelby wanted to support his wife and kids despite having a severe case of Parkinson’s disease, but how could he have told them he had recently lost his job?
His brother-in-law Trey appeared to be the only source of relief from the situation. Trey believed that the heist wouldn’t be challenging. Even if it meant not being able to support his family for a few days, Shelby should have persisted in following his ethical path. Many people in the community were willing to assist.
Even his most recent job was obtained through a friend’s kindness, and Bodie, the town sheriff, was a kind man who would have offered to help. Maybe Shelby didn’t want their assistance. He didn’t want to ask anyone because doing so would make him look like a bad father.
Although he was also a racecar driver, that profession didn’t pay well. Shelby wasn’t inclined to agree, so when Trey proposed this idea under the pretext that the clinic was dispensing “oxy” tablets to the general population and the earnings were being distributed to hotshots in big cities, Shelby wasn’t ready to go along with it.
He was genuinely motivated to join Trey by the prospect of losing his job. It revealed that Trey had been collaborating with the “oxy” group when he consented to take part in this risky scheme. Because of the lack of security, Shelby and he could simply rob the location because he knew where the money was.
One man was shot dead, while another was wounded. They held the money in their hands. What use is this money right now to Shelby? In this case, he had forfeited his innocence. With this violent deed, the significance that had emerged from the difficult small-town life vanished. He should call the cops, right?
He must have believed it. What about Mila, his beautiful daughter, though? Shelby would not have accepted the money if he had realized that it would cause awful chaos in his life. Although Trey instructed him to keep the money, doing so would not guarantee Trey’s survival. Clayton had traveled to Dixie to resolve a situation. Bodie, who was looking into the robbery, saw that the town was changing.
