Meghan Markle may be preparing for one of her biggest acting projects since leaving Suits, with reports indicating that she is in discussions to join Netflix’s The Gentlemen. According to the BBC, the Duchess of Sussex is in early talks about a possible role in Guy Ritchie’s crime series, although the details of the part have not been revealed.

Netflix and representatives for Meghan and Prince Harry declined to comment, while reports have differed on whether the potential role could be connected to a future third season of the series. Season 3 has not been officially announced, making any casting plans speculative for now.

A Potential Major Return to Scripted Television

If the role materializes, The Gentlemen could mark Meghan’s most significant return to acting since her departure from Suits. She played Rachel Zane for seven seasons and stepped away from the legal drama as her relationship with Prince Harry progressed ahead of their 2018 wedding.

Meghan previously described leaving her acting career as the beginning of “a new chapter,” rather than something she was giving up. In recent years, her screen work has largely focused on projects connected to her and Harry’s production ventures, including Netflix programming.

The Duchess has recently begun moving closer to scripted entertainment again, with reports noting that she has filmed a cameo as herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends, starring Lily Collins and Brie Larson. A role in The Gentlemen would represent a more substantial step back into acting.

Created by Guy Ritchie, The Gentlemen stars Theo James as Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who unexpectedly inherits an estate connected to a criminal cannabis empire. The Netflix series combines crime, action, comedy and Ritchie’s distinctive British gangster style.

Netflix has already confirmed that the second season will continue expanding Eddie and Susie Glass’ criminal operation beyond Britain. The new season is scheduled to arrive on September 3, 2026, with Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Vinnie Jones and several new cast members involved.

For now, Meghan’s possible involvement remains a report rather than an official casting announcement. No character, season or filming schedule has been confirmed, but her reported discussions with the production have already fueled speculation about a major new chapter in her entertainment career.
