MediaOCD has announced an agreement with Aniplex of America to distribute select anime home media releases through the MediaOCD online store. The partnership launches with two major titles from Aniplex of America’s catalog, Gurren Lagann and Mashle: Magic and Muscles, giving North American anime collectors another source for physical releases.
The initial lineup includes the Gurren Lagann Complete Blu-ray Disc Box, Gurren Lagann The Movie 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and limited-edition Blu-ray releases covering the first two seasons of Mashle: Magic and Muscles. The announcement was made from Los Angeles on October 6, 2026, with the titles now being offered through MediaOCD.
Justin Sevakis, founder of MediaOCD, said, “Aniplex of America has a catalog of legendary titles, and this agreement ensures that these beloved titles remain available to fans.” He added that the company was excited to begin with Gurren Lagann and Mashle: Magic and Muscles while planning to announce additional titles in the future.
Gurren Lagann Gets Complete Blu-ray and 4K Releases
The partnership begins with multiple physical editions of Gurren Lagann, the acclaimed 2007 mecha anime produced by GAINAX. The 27-episode series was followed by Gurren Lagann the Movie -Childhood’s End- in 2008 and Gurren Lagann the Movie -The Lights in the Sky Are Stars- in 2009.
The Gurren Lagann Complete Blu-ray Disc Box contains all 27 television episodes and both movies. The collector’s box features artwork by mechanical designer You Yoshinari and includes both the special Blu-ray version and broadcast version of Episode 6. Aniplex’s official specifications confirm that the collection contains seven Blu-ray discs covering the TV series and two films.
The Gurren Lagann The Movie 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray contains both films remastered in 4K for their 15th anniversary. The release also includes staff audio commentary, a special leaflet, and the English dub of both movies, which was previously presented during the films’ North American theatrical revival.
Mashle Seasons 1 and 2 Join the Lineup
MediaOCD will also carry the limited-edition Blu-ray releases for Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 1 and The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc. Based on Hajime Komoto’s manga published in Weekly Shonen Jump, the A-1 Pictures anime premiered in 2023. Aniplex currently lists both Blu-ray sets in its catalog.
The Season 1 box includes episodes 1 through 12 in Japanese and English, along with textless opening and ending sequences, a special booklet, original soundtrack CD, mini-character stickers, and a U.S.-exclusive coaster.
The second box contains episodes 13 through 24 and includes similar collector-focused extras. Its textless opening and ending materials also feature the viral “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts.
MediaOCD’s agreement expands access to physical anime releases while potentially opening the door for additional Aniplex of America titles to be added to its catalog in the future.
