Fans of Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms finally have a release window to mark on their calendars. The anime’s official staff has confirmed that Season 2 will premiere in January 2027, bringing back the romantic comedy between Mona Kawai and the seemingly unshakable Medaka Kuroiwa.

The upcoming season will continue Mona’s ongoing attempts to win over her classmate, who has remained completely immune to her charms from the very beginning. The January 2027 premiere window was announced through the anime’s official channels and later reported by Crunchyroll News.
Why the January 2027 Release Window Makes Sense
Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms Season 1 finished its 12-episode run in March 2025, and the anime’s second season was announced shortly afterward. To celebrate the renewal, creator Ran Kuze shared a special illustration for fans.
A gap of around two years between seasons is common for TV anime, giving studios enough time for planning, production, and promotion. That makes the January 2027 premiere window a realistic timeline for the sequel.
With the release window now officially confirmed, fans can expect more updates, including a full trailer, theme songs, and additional promotional material in the months leading up to the premiere.
Returning Staff and Cast for Season 2
Animation for Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms Season 2 will once again be produced by Studio SynergySP, with Yoshiaki Okumura returning as director. The biggest production change is the series composition, with Yoriko Tomita taking over script duties from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.
Character designer Mayumi Watanabe and composer Akiyuki Tateyama are also returning. The sound team has been expanded as Nozomi Nakatani joins Noriyoshi Konuma as co-sound director.
The main voice cast remains unchanged. Ryōta Iwasaki returns as Medaka Kuroiwa, while Yū Serizawa reprises her role as Mona Kawai.
What Is Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms About?
The story follows Mona Kawai, one of the most popular girls at school, who is used to getting everyone’s attention. However, her confidence is challenged when transfer student Medaka Kuroiwa shows no interest in her at all.
Unknown to Mona, Medaka was raised at a temple and follows strict rules that require him to avoid getting close to girls. His calm attitude only motivates Mona to try even harder to win him over.
As the story progresses, their playful rivalry slowly develops into a heartfelt romantic comedy, with both characters beginning to understand their feelings.
The Manga Still Has Plenty of Story Left
The original manga by Ran Kuze began as a one-shot in 2020 before starting full serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2021.
Since then, the series has grown to more than 24 volumes in Japan and has over 1.9 million copies in circulation. Kodansha USA also publishes the manga in English, making it accessible to international readers.
With plenty of chapters still unadapted, Season 2 has more than enough source material to continue Medaka and Mona’s story.
What to Expect From Season 2
While the first season focused mainly on comedy and Mona’s attempts to impress Medaka, the upcoming season is expected to spend more time developing their relationship.
As the manga continues, both characters begin to face more emotional moments, and Mona’s feelings become increasingly genuine. Medaka also starts to question the emotional distance he has always maintained.
Although the anime has not revealed exactly which manga chapters will be adapted, fans can expect a mix of romantic comedy, character growth, and new challenges for the pair.
