On June 3rd in Japan, MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA, a prominent manga platform, is thrilled to announce that it has surpassed 28,000,000 app downloads as of May 2024. This milestone comes just over five years since the service’s launch.

To celebrate this significant achievement, MANGA Plus is introducing a new limited-time feature that allows users to support their favorite manga creators by watching ads. This feature is available in all nine languages supported on the app and can be accessed by users worldwide.

MangaPlus Introduces New Feature: Watch Ads to Support Manga Creators

MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA Celebrates 28 Million App Downloads with New Feature To celebrate this significant achievement, MANGA Plus is introducing a new limited-time feature that allows users to support their favorite manga creators by watching ads. This feature is available in all nine languages supported on the app and can be accessed by users worldwide. New Feature: Watch Ads to Support Manga Creators Starting from June 3rd, 12 pm (JST), or 3 am (GMT), users will have the option to watch an advertisement after reading a chapter on the MANGA Plus app. A portion of the ad revenue generated will be directly distributed to the respective manga creators. This initiative aims to highlight and support the manga creators who pour their hearts and souls into their work. It also provides overseas readers with a direct way to show their support and bridges the gap between them and the manga creators. This initiative is possible because MANGA Plus is a service run directly by the editorial team in Japan. How It Works: Read a Chapter: Read a chapter on the MANGA Plus app as usual. Watch an Ad: At the end of the chapter, there will be a prompt to watch an ad. Support Creators: A portion of the ad revenue goes directly to the manga creator. Continue Reading: Read more from the same creator, or find a new title and manga creator to support. A Message from Deputy Editor-In-Chief Momiyama: “We are thrilled to have reached 28 million downloads and are incredibly grateful to our dedicated user base,” said Deputy Editor-In-Chief Momiyama. “Manga creators put their everything into creating manga with the help of editors. However, it’s only because of the fans that we can continuously create new stories. With this new feature, users can watch an ad to support their favorite manga creator. We hope that this new feature will allow users to connect more with our platform, and have their voices heard by the manga creators and editors in Japan.” About MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA: MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA is operated directly by the editorial department in Japan, ensuring that what you read directly supports the creators. The platform hopes to reach many fans and help readers discover their new favorite manga to read. This new feature not only celebrates the app's success but also strengthens the connection between manga fans and creators, offering a simple yet impactful way for readers to contribute to the manga industry.
