Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026, also known as KYOMAF 2026, is preparing to welcome manga, anime and game fans to Kyoto on September 19 and 20. The 15th edition of the event will take place across Miyako Messe, ROHM Theatre Kyoto and the Kyoto International Manga Museum, bringing together exhibitors, creators, performers and major entertainment franchises. According to the organizers, 63 companies and organizations will participate at the main venue, making this the largest booth presence in the event’s history.
The anniversary edition will also feature a record 27 programs across the KYOMAF Stage and Miyako Messe Stage, alongside 10 new Creative Stage programs focused on creators, producers and the production side of entertainment. Visitors can also expect exclusive merchandise, character appearances, food collaborations, cosplay activities and special projects celebrating KYOMAF’s 15th anniversary.
KYOMAF 2026 Stages, Exhibits and Anime Collaborations
The main venue will feature exhibitors including Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation, KADOKAWA, Aniplex, Contents Seed, Mainichi Broadcasting System, DeNA and Kansai Television. The Creative Stage expands the event beyond traditional panels by inviting manga and anime creators, game developers and producers to discuss their work, production stories and industry experiences.
The 27 programs at the two primary stages will feature popular franchises including Detective Conan, Re -Starting Life in Another World- and Fate/Grand Order. The Kyoto-set original anime Kaze wo Tsugumono, scheduled to premiere in January 2027, will also receive attention during the event. Some stage programs will be streamed for free through YouTube and ABEMA, allowing fans who cannot attend Kyoto to watch selected sessions online.
KYOMAF 2026 will also expand its merchandise offerings. The KYOMAF Shop will sell collaboration goods connected to six featured works, including Kaze wo Tsugumono, The Apothecary Diaries, The Vermilion Mask, Tokyo Revengers, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and Karenn Ouga: Wazamonogatari. Around 600 items from popular manga and anime franchises will be available alongside KYOMAF’s original merchandise.
Food is another major part of this year’s event. The KYOMAF Cafe Stand will offer exclusive dishes and drinks, with eligible purchases including a randomly selected coaster featuring one of six KYOMAF collaboration visuals. Kaze wo Tsugumono will also receive dedicated collaboration food with its own original coaster.
The family program includes character greetings featuring mini Demon Slayer characters Tanjiro and Nezuko, Hamtaro and Conan Edogawa. Workshops will cover traditional crafts, cooking, digital entertainment and creative activities, including Kyoto sweets and matcha experiences, gold-leaf crafting, VR activities and an anime-and-game jam.
The 15th-anniversary celebrations will add an original KYOMAF photo booth and the free “KYOMAF Anime Cinema Night 2026.” Outdoor screenings at the Kyoto International Manga Museum are scheduled for September 19 and 20, featuring Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital with English subtitles and KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson, respectively.
Additional collaborations include a special Kaze wo Tsugumono exhibition, digital stamp rally and venue announcements featuring its characters. KYOMAF will also collaborate with AnimeJapan, showcase Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart, and display the winning entry from its KYOMAF × pixiv creator contest, selected from approximately 500 submissions.
KYOMAF 2026 will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Miyako Messe and ROHM Theatre Kyoto on September 19, with the main venues closing at 4 p.m. on September 20. The Kyoto International Manga Museum will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
Advance Miyako Messe tickets cost ¥1,800 per day, while a combined Miyako Messe and Manga Museum ticket costs ¥2,700. A ¥2,300 Fast Pass provides priority entry when used with a separate admission ticket, while same-day Miyako Messe admission costs ¥2,300.
