The Junket Bank anime will no longer premiere in October 2026 as previously planned. The official anime website announced on September 9 that the broadcast has been postponed because of scheduling issues affecting video production, with a new premiere date yet to be determined.
The anime had initially been scheduled to begin on October 5, making the delay particularly notable because the announcement arrives less than a month before its planned debut. The production committee says additional time is necessary to deliver an adaptation that can fully capture the appeal and atmosphere of Ikko Tanaka’s original manga.
Junket Bank Needs More Time Before Its High-Stakes Gambling Debut
According to the official announcement, the postponement is specifically connected to the anime’s production schedule. The team apologized for announcing the change so close to the planned broadcast and said it would continue working toward improving the animation’s quality before revealing another premiere date.
The original Junket Bank manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since 2020. The story follows Akira Mitarai, an ordinary bank employee whose transfer to a mysterious Special Operations Department introduces him to an underground gambling world operated inside the bank.
There, Akira encounters Shin Mafutsu, an unpredictable gambler who possesses an extraordinary ability to read his opponents. The series centers on psychological battles, dangerous gambling games and characters willing to push themselves beyond conventional limits. The official website describes the manga as a psychological battle story involving gamblers competing in a gambling venue managed by banking professionals.
The anime is being directed by Seiji Kishi at CUE, with Makoto Fukami handling series composition, Masanori Shino designing the characters and Taku Iwasaki composing the music. Soma Saito voices Shin Mafutsu, while Rikuya Yasuda plays Akira Mitarai, with Wataru Hatano and Daisuke Hirakawa also joining the principal cast.
The production has continued revealing new material despite the delay. Koki Uchiyama was recently announced as the voice of Haruto Hinagata, a gambler whose unusual observational abilities allow him to perceive human emotions as colors.
For now, fans will have to wait for another announcement before knowing when Junket Bank will actually premiere. The official website and social media accounts will provide the new broadcast schedule once it has been finalized.
