Brazilian indie developer Manabrew Studios and publisher Odd Loop Games have announced Jinx It, a hand-drawn roguelike dicebuilder currently in development for PC via Steam. Revealed on October 14, 2026, the game combines dice-based scoring, strategic rerolls, customizable dice, and roguelike progression in a cartoon world inspired by the rubber-hose animation style.

Players begin their journey after losing a life-or-death bet against Jinx, the Unlucky One. With a rematch as their ultimate goal, they must defeat a series of opponents who also challenged Jinx and lost their own bets. Each encounter introduces new obstacles, requiring players to adapt their strategies rather than rely on a single winning combination.

The game’s central mechanic revolves around arranging dice to form Straights and Sets. However, Jinx It goes beyond conventional dice games by allowing individual dice to contribute to multiple scoring combinations. Players can also modify their dice, collect special items, and combine different upgrades to create increasingly powerful builds.

Manabrew Studios is developing the game alongside Odd Loop Games, marking the publisher’s first announced title. Although a release date has not been revealed, players can already add Jinx It to their Steam wishlists.

JINX IT GAMEPLAY FOCUSES ON DICE PLACEMENT AND CUSTOMIZATION

Unlike dice games that depend primarily on the numbers rolled, Jinx It makes the arrangement of each result an important part of scoring. Players roll their dice, select the results they want to keep, reroll the remaining dice, and then position them from left to right to create Straights and Sets.

Because a single die can contribute to multiple scoring combinations, the order of the results can significantly affect a turn. Players must consider both the numbers they roll and how those numbers interact when arranged together.

Each die also has its own characteristics and special behaviors. Some dice can split into additional dice, while others consume other dice or change how a roll functions. These abilities give players opportunities to develop specialized strategies around individual dice instead of relying on interchangeable number-based pieces.

THE FORGE, LUCKY CHARMS, AND OTHER SYSTEMS SHAPE EVERY RUN

One of Jinx It’s defining features is the Forge, which allows players to modify individual dice throughout a run. Upgrades can change face values and their probabilities, duplicate or remove faces, add scoring bonuses, and unlock specialized enhancements for particular dice.

These modifications can transform a relatively ordinary die into the centerpiece of a powerful build. Players can combine their customized dice with Lucky Charms, starting Dice Sets, and Blessings to discover combinations that significantly increase their scoring potential.

The mysterious Seer provides another progression system, giving players additional ways to influence how a run develops. Winnings earned between matches can be invested in new dice and Lucky Charms, allowing players to refine their strategies as they advance.

The objective is to discover synergies between these systems. A successful build might combine unusual dice abilities, customized probabilities, and carefully arranged scoring patterns to produce increasingly powerful results.

OPPONENTS BECOME MORE DIFFICULT AS PLAYERS APPROACH JINX

Every table in Jinx It features an opponent in a multi-round match. These characters have powers that can disrupt the player’s strategy, and their abilities become more challenging as confrontations progress.

A combination that performs well against one opponent may prove ineffective against the next. Players must therefore adjust their dice arrangements, invest in upgrades, and reconsider their builds when necessary.

The opponents also share a connection to the game’s central story. Each previously challenged Jinx and lost a bet, leaving the player to overcome them before earning another opportunity to face the Unlucky One.

The journey ultimately leads back to Jinx’s table for a final rematch.

JINX IT RELEASE WINDOW AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Jinx It is currently in development for PC and will launch through Steam. Manabrew Studios and Odd Loop Games have not announced a release date or confirmed additional platforms. Interested players can wishlist Jinx It on Steam ahead of its eventual launch.

Manabrew Studios is a three-person Brazilian indie team consisting of two programmers and one illustrator. The longtime friends aim to create games with distinctive artwork and a strong creative identity rather than relying on automatically generated content.

Odd Loop Games is a Brazilian independent micro-publisher that supports small development teams with marketing, public relations, creator outreach, events, and Steam launch strategies. Jinx It is the publisher’s first announced title.

With its hand-drawn presentation and dice-customization mechanics, Jinx It is positioning itself as a strategy-focused roguelike for players who enjoy experimenting with unusual builds. Its release date remains unconfirmed.
