At least Yuichiro manages to escape, feeling guilty that Mikaela had to die for him. It is understandable that Yuichiro went through survivor’s guilt.

Yuichiro is rescued by the Moon Demon Company, which stands to kill the Vampires. Since Yuichiro holds a lot of grudges against the Vampires, he also joins as a hunter, hoping to take down as many vampires as possible.

That is when Yuichiro meets Mikaela again and sees that his best friend, who was supposed to die, actually survived. The worst part of it all was that Mikaela became a vampire. Yuichiro is supposed to be a vampire hunter, and his best friend is a vampire.
