Season 5. In the Season 5 premiere, Blair continues to plan her wedding but runs into trouble with her relationship with Louis. She later finds out that she is heavy (pregnant) with a child. Blair tells Chuck that the baby is Louis’ and that a part of her heart wants Chuck to be the father. But how did this happen? Let me explain it again for a deeper understanding.
In the premiere, “Yes, then Zero,” Eleanor finds a hidden book about pregnancy that appears to belong to Blair. However, Dorota announced that she was pregnant with a second child and claimed it as her own.
Blair’s stylist then takes her measurements and asks how far along she is. Although she denies it, it turns out that it is indeed the case. Soon after, she accompanies Dorota’s obstetrician and, after provoking a scene with a strange question,
Dorota got to know that Blair was pregnant. She begins to experience morning sickness and eventually confesses to Dan that she is pregnant after Dan mistakenly assumes that her eating disorder has returned (“Beauties and Feasts”).
What Happened to Blair’s Baby?
Yes, Blair is pregnant on Gossip Girl. However, she ends up losing the baby. Blair and Louis’s unborn child (last name: Grimaldi) died when his mother was involved in a car accident.
Other than her daughter’s miscarriage, Blair was unharmed in the accident. Blair loses her baby in the episode “The Fugitive” at the end of season 5 of Gossip Girl.
Who is the Biological Father of Blair’s Baby?
After sleeping with Chuck (“A Wrong Breakup”) and Louis (several times over the summer), Blair is unsure who the baby’s father is. After Dan and Dorota’s encouragement, she takes a paternity test and finds out it is Louis’ baby (Gem of Denial).
When she and Louis break the news to Eleanor, Silas, and Sophie, problems arise as no one can agree on how to raise the baby. Sophie draws up a contract threatening Blair with custody if she misbehaves, but neither Sophie nor Louis signs it (“The Fast”).
Several events cause Blair to become suspicious of Louis, but she realizes that she still loves Chuck. After confessing their true feelings for each other, she breaks off her engagement to Louis and plans to raise the baby with Chuck.
However, on the way to breaking up with Louis, she and Chuck get into a serious car crash. As a result of the accident, Blair loses her baby, and the story of her unborn child ends (in a town car with the boys).
In an interactive session with People magazine, Gossip Girl producers Josh Safran and Stephanie Savage revealed that Blair and Louis’ unborn child was actually a girl.
