Hunter X Hunter fans can rejoice as the manga has received an update for the first time in two years, with a new volume set to be released soon. This news brings hope for the future of the series and the release of upcoming chapters.

According to X/Twitter user @WSJ_Manga, the S Manga site, an official website of Shueisha, announced that volume 38 of Hunter X Hunter will be released on September 4, 2024.

This volume will not include new chapters but will contain chapters #390 to #400, which were originally released in 2022. However, the announcement of this upcoming volume can help predict when new chapters of Hunter X Hunter might be released.

Volume #37 of Hunter X Hunter was released on November 4, 2022, after Yoshihiro Togashi showed signs of improvement by frequently updating the progress of the manga on Twitter.

The manga returned to publication with chapter #391 on October 24, 2022, after it was announced in the summer of 2022 that it would be returning to Weekly Shonen Jump. Based on this pattern, it is very possible that the Hunter X Hunter manga could start serializing again in August 2024.

This possibility is further supported by Togashi’s Twitter updates, where he revealed that chapters #401 to #410 were nearing completion and in the final stages.

Additionally, a new volume would benefit greatly from the release of new chapters, similar to what happened in 2022 when volume 37 sold more than 500,000 copies in the first four days. The announcement of a new volume, coupled with Togashi’s progress, indicates that new chapters are imminent.

It’s important to note that Hunter X Hunter will not be returning to a weekly serialization to allow Togashi to prioritize his health, but will likely opt for batch releases. The series is currently in the exciting and strategic Succession War arc, and fans can look forward to the continuation of Kurapika’s uphill battle among royalty.
