The campaign has previously featured popular manga such as SPY×FAMILY, The Apothecary Diaries, and Oshi no Ko. According to the announcement, more than 30 works featured in the project have subsequently received anime adaptations, highlighting its potential as a platform for discovering future anime hits.

Nominations remain open until November 12, 2026. Public voting will then run from December 22, 2026, through January 30, 2027, with the Top 10 scheduled to be announced at an awards ceremony in March 2027.

Eligible entries include published manga, ongoing series, and web manga, even if they have not yet been collected into volumes. However, titles that have already received television, theatrical, or original video animation adaptations are excluded. Manga with live-action adaptations can still qualify if they have not received an anime adaptation.

AnimeJapan’s official Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking page outlines the campaign’s eligibility rules and previous results. The 2026 edition attracted 222,758 votes, demonstrating strong interest from manga and anime fans.

The Top 10 manga selected for 2027 will also receive promotional displays and screening opportunities at AnimeJapan 2027, giving nominated works additional exposure.
