AMC Global Media has officially announced a new addition to its Summer 2026 anime lineup, revealing that The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World will premiere this July on HIDIVE. The upcoming series is positioned as one of the platform’s key simulcast titles, combining two popular anime genres, gourmet storytelling and slow-life isekai, into a single fantasy-driven experience.
The announcement was accompanied by the global release of the first promotional video, with an official English-subtitled version made available to fans. The series will stream exclusively on HIDIVE across several regions, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, reinforcing the platform’s push to expand its international anime offerings.
A Gourmet Isekai Story Focused on Travel and Food
The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World follows the story of Rin Takanashi, a woman in her late twenties who is unexpectedly summoned to another world as a saint. However, instead of receiving recognition or support, she is abandoned shortly after her arrival. Left to survive on her own, Rin relies on her unique abilities, including powerful survival skills and a mobile home companion known as Mochan, to navigate her new reality.
Rather than focusing on traditional hero-driven narratives, the series takes a different direction by emphasizing a slower, more relaxed journey. Rin embraces her love for cooking and solo travel, turning her unexpected situation into an opportunity to explore a fantasy world filled with unique ingredients, cultures, and companions. This approach aligns with the growing popularity of slow-life isekai stories, where character experiences and world-building take priority over high-stakes action.
Production Details and Creative Team
The anime is adapted from the light novel series written by Yoneori and illustrated by Akane Nitou, which first launched in 2019 and has since expanded into multiple volumes under Kadokawa Shoten. The adaptation brings together an experienced creative team, with Atsushi Nigorikawa directing the series and Takashi Aoshima handling series composition.
Character design is credited to both Akane Nitou and Izumi Ishii, ensuring continuity between the original source material and its animated form. The project is being produced by EMT Squared in collaboration with Ankichi Kobo, studios known for their work on character-driven anime projects.
The main cast includes Sora Tokui as Rin Takanashi and Yuki On as Ville, adding established voice talent to the series. Their performances are expected to play a key role in bringing the story’s emotional and slice-of-life elements to life.

HIDIVE Expands Its Simulcast Strategy
The addition of The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World highlights HIDIVE’s continued investment in exclusive simulcast content. According to John Ledford, President of HIDIVE, the series represents a blend of two of the most popular trends in anime today.
He stated,
“We’re thrilled to present The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World, one of this summer’s most highly anticipated new shows, on HIDIVE as part of its slate of exclusive simulcast series premiering in July. Gourmet and slow-life isekai are two of the hottest genres in anime right now, and this series combines both.”
This strategy reflects the platform’s effort to compete in the increasingly crowded anime streaming market by securing exclusive rights to new seasonal titles. By focusing on niche but growing genres, HIDIVE aims to attract dedicated anime fans looking for fresh and unique content.
