Amazon MGM Studios has secured two big names for their upcoming action-comedy “Balls Up.” This movie marks Amazon’s fourth collaboration with Skydance and stars action movie favorite Mark Wahlberg alongside Paul Walter Hauser, who rose to fame in “Richard Jewell.” Peter Farrelly, who recently directed the star-studded comedy “Ricky Stanicky” for Prime Video, will be at the helm.

“Balls Up” is a buddy comedy where Wahlberg and Hauser play two marketing executives who are, let’s just say, not the best at their jobs. After a costly mistake leads them to lose a major sponsorship for a client, they get fired. To drown their sorrows, they head to a big soccer game using some free tickets.

However, their wild night of drunken antics lands them in hot water, and they end up being chased “by every person across the country.” The script comes from frequent collaborators Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the same duo behind the highly anticipated superhero movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” hitting theaters next month.

They will also produce the film alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato from Skydance.

Mark Wahlberg, a two-time Academy Award winner and three-time Golden Globe winner, is known for his versatility. While he started out as an action star, Wahlberg has recently been leaning towards comedies. He recently teamed up with Kevin Hart in the Netflix comedy “Me Time” (2022).

His upcoming projects include the Netflix movie “The Union” with Halle Berry, the adventure film “Flight Risk” directed by Mel Gibson, and the Amazon MGM crime thriller “Play Dirty.”

Hollywood’s New Favorite: Paul Walter Hauser Keeps Booking Big Roles

Paul Walter Hauser has been on a roll since his Emmy-winning performance as murderer Larry Hall in the miniseries “Black Bird.” This year alone, he has landed several roles, including a part in the upcoming reboot of “Naked Gun” and a biopic about comedian Chris Farley directed by Josh Gad.

He even recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a role in the upcoming “Fantastic Four.” Hauser also voiced the character Embarrassment in the record-breaking Disney/Pixar animation “Inside Out 2.” He has two more films coming out soon: “The Instigators” and “Americana” alongside Sydney Sweeney.
