The fire broke out when sparks flew during additional filming to enhance the stage’s presentation, causing a temporary commotion that led to the evacuation of artists and audience members. Fortunately, aespa had already completed its comeback stage recording before the incident occurred.
An official from “M Countdown” reassured the public, stating that the fire was swiftly detected and extinguished, with no injuries reported. The representative emphasized that all sets on the show are treated with fire retardants, and thorough maintenance inspections will be conducted to prevent future occurrences.
Unfortunately, Winter will not be part of the live broadcast due to health concerns following surgery for a pneumothorax. Despite this setback, aespa’s recent comeback with the double title track “Supernova” from their first full-length album “Armageddon,” released on May 13, has garnered significant attention and positive reviews.
