Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has made its return with Season 4, bringing to life one of the manga’s standout moments between Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado.

This season shows the Hashira Training Arc, a pivotal storyline from Koyoharu Gotoge’s original series, which promises a different approach compared to previous seasons. With Muzan Kibutsuji’s final forces looming, the Hashira and Demon Slayer Corps are gearing up for their toughest battles yet.

The Hashira Training Arc opened with a surprising twist in its premiere, highlighting Giyu’s initial resistance to joining forces with the other Hashira for training.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s final request to Tanjiro was to persuade Giyu to participate, leading to the standout scene in Episode 2 where the two engage in a heartfelt soba speed eating contest to break the ice.

Episode 2 of the Hashira Training Arc sees Kagaya entrusting Tanjiro with the mission to not give up on convincing Giyu to join the training. After following Giyu around for several days, Tanjiro finally manages to break through Giyu’s emotional barriers.

Giyu Tomioka from ‘Demon Slayer’

Giyu reveals his feelings of inadequacy as a Hashira, believing that Sabito, whose spirit trained Tanjiro in the first season, was more deserving of the title.

Demon Slayer fans can expect an unearthing of Giyu’s character and a unique training arc that challenges the strength and resolve of the Demon Slayer Corps as they prepare for their ultimate showdown with Muzan’s forces.
