Solo artist EVAN (formerly Heeseung of ENHYPEN) has offered fans an intimate look into his creative evolution through the release of a teaser for his debut documentary, “About EVAN.”
Following his transition to a solo career and the release of his debut single “Ride or Die,” the upcoming documentary captures his journey toward finding creative autonomy and establishing his identity as a complete musician.
Pursuit of Authentic Creative Expression and Musical Freedom
In the documentary feature, EVAN addresses the personal and artistic motivations that led him to embark on a solo path.
After debuting in 2020 as ENHYPEN’s oldest member and main vocalist, EVAN made the decision to pursue an independent artistic identity to explore genres that align directly with his musical vision.
Reflecting on his transition, EVAN shared his perspective on launching his solo career:
“It may sound a bit philosophical, but I think life is a process of finding one’s true self.
As I continue making music, I think I’ll find the version of myself that is most true to who I am.”
The documentary highlights his hands-on role in shaping every aspect of his solo project- from songwriting, composing, and producing to directing the visual concepts- demonstrating a commitment to raw, authentic storytelling.
Blending Alternative Rock with Personal Storytelling
The feature also delves into the creation of his debut single, “Ride or Die,” an alternative rock track infused with pop rock and hyperpop elements.

Inspired by the raw energy of live band performances, EVAN crafted the song as both a stylistic statement and an expression of gratitude to his fans, EVERs.
EVAN explained the mindset behind his new musical direction and his desire to connect deeply through his art:
“I worked on it with the mindset of doing what I wanted to do without worries or concerns.
Just as the music of artists I loved did for me, I hope my music can become more than hope for someone- maybe even a reason to keep living.”
“About EVAN” promises to offer fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at the trial, error, and passion behind his solo debut, solidifying his standing as a self-directed, multifaceted artist.
