On August 31, 2026, entertainment agency E Entertainment officially announced the disbandment of the boy group E’LAST following the mutual termination of all remaining members’ exclusive contracts.
The news brings an end to the group’s six-year journey together, marking a poignant moment for their global fanbase as the members prepare to pursue separate paths in the industry.
Official Statement and Contract Termination
The announcement was made via an official statement titled
“Announcement Regarding the Termination of E’LAST’s Exclusive Contracts” across the group’s official communication channels.
In the release, E Entertainment outlined that the decision came after thorough and extended deliberation between the agency and the artists.
After taking sufficient time for in-depth conversations and repeated discussions regarding their past activities and future direction, the agency and E’LAST mutually agreed to terminate the exclusive contracts of Rano, Baekgyeul, Romin, Won Hyuk, Wonjun, and Yejun, effective August 31, 2026.
In their statement, E Entertainment expressed deep gratitude to the group and their supporters, sharing:
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the precious time and memories we have built together, and we sincerely thank everyone who has supported the artists throughout their journey.
We will cherish every moment we spent together and sincerely cheer for their new beginnings and future endeavors.
We would like to thank you once again for the love and support you have shown E’LAST, and we ask for your continued warm interest and encouragement for them moving forward.”
Members’ Personal Messages and Future Plans
Following the agency’s announcement, members Won Hyuk, Baekgyeul, and Wonjun took to their personal Instagram accounts to upload handwritten letters and messages addressing their fans, known as ELRINGs, directly.
The letters reflected a mixture of regret, heartfelt gratitude, and hope for future encounters.
Won Hyuk expressed his apologetic feelings toward their fanbase while reassuring them of his future aspirations. In Won Hyuk’s post, he wrote,
“I am sorry that I could not protect the team. Moving forward, I will continue to refine and polish my craft as both a musical actor and a singer, and I will never stop working hard to stand before you all again.”
Baekgyeul also shared a warm farewell emphasizing his lasting bond with the fans. Baekgyeul confirmed the disbandment by sharing,
“Although my time as a member of E’LAST ends here, as human Baek Sun Woo, I want to continue to be with ELRINGs in the future.”
Similarly, Wonjun promised to seek out opportunities to perform and remain connected with their audience. Wonjun shared,
“As I told ELRINGs, even if not as ‘idol Wonjun’ anymore, I am planning opportunities to always stand on stage and to communicate and meet with ELRINGs more frequently in the future.”
E’LAST originally debuted in June 2020 as an eight-member group with their first mini-album Day Dream.
Over the years, they built a distinct musical identity through theatrical concepts and powerful performances.
Following the previous departures of members Seungyeop and Choi In upon the conclusion of their respective contracts, the group had been operating as a six-member lineup prior to finalizing their complete disbandment.
