Dragon Ball Super fans may still not have a return date, but recent official activity has provided an important update on the manga’s future. V Jump and the Dragon Ball official website continue to describe Toyotaro as the artist behind the ongoing Dragon Ball Super series, suggesting the manga remains active despite its extended hiatus.
The manga entered hiatus following the death of creator Akira Toriyama in March 2024. Toyotaro later released Chapter 104, but no new chapters have followed, leaving the future direction of the series unclear.
The latest Dragon Ball Super volume collected the Super Hero storyline, which expanded on the events of the 2022 film and concluded the current manga arc. VIZ continues to list Toyotaro as the artist and Toriyama as the story creator.
That means the next chapter could potentially begin a completely new saga. However, neither Shueisha nor Toyotaro has announced when monthly serialization will officially resume.
The Dragon Ball franchise is also preparing for a major anime return. Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol has officially entered production and will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, continuing after the Universe Survival Arc.
For now, the manga’s return remains unconfirmed, but the latest official references offer fans reason to believe that Goku and the Z Fighters’ story will continue.
