Crunchyroll has announced that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will begin streaming on October 11, bringing an enhanced version of the iconic Beerus storyline to fans around the world. Produced by Toei Animation, the new series revisits the arrival of Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his first major confrontation with Goku.

Unlike a straightforward remaster, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is being presented as an ENHANCED edition of the original Dragon Ball Super anime. Toei Animation has added new cuts, revised existing scenes, re-rendered the footage, and reconstructed parts of the story while updating the sound and music presentation. The project is also designed to bring the anime closer to Akira Toriyama’s original story, character designs, and creative vision.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Revisits Goku’s Battle With Beerus

The story begins several years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when Earth has entered a period of peace. That changes when Beerus awakens from his long sleep and learns about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza.

Beerus eventually travels to Earth and encounters Goku, putting the planet at risk because of his overwhelming power. The resulting battle between Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus becomes the central conflict of the story, with Vegeta, Whis, and Goku’s other allies also appearing. Toei has specifically highlighted the enhanced visual treatment of the large-scale battle sequences.

Akira Toriyama is credited with the original work, story, and character designs. Matsuto Seya handles composition and direction arrangement, while Tadayoshi Yamamuro serves as animation character designer and general animation director. Eiichi Nishimura handles editing, Yōsuke Motoki oversees compositing, and Norihito Sumitomo provides the music.

The main cast includes Masako Nozawa as Son Goku and Kōichi Yamadera as Beerus. The production is handled by Toei Animation under the copyright of Bird Studio, Shueisha, and Toei Animation.
