The 2018 jTBC k-drama ‘Something in the Rain’ is one of those k-dramas that has a promising cast, but the story could’ve been better. Following the concept of older woman younger man romance, the k-drama became a lot more popular in the k-drama scene. Also known as ‘Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food’, the k-drama has gotten mixed reviews from the fans. Some love it, and some don’t. But most of the fans have a question, does the k-drama ‘Something In The Rain’ has a happy ending. The k-drama stars’ Crash Landing On You’ fame Son Ye Jin and ‘Snowdrop’ fame Jung Hae In.
The story follows Yoon Jin Ah, a woman in her mid-30s who has never had a proper relationship. She’s clumsy, reckless, and foolish (that’s what the men in her life have always told her). The cycle repeats itself once again, and Jin Ah is dumped by a man she was head over heels for because apparently, she’s tasteless and not attractive as a woman. Crying her life away, she meets Joon Hee with a broad smile on his face. Joon Hee is the boy next door and younger brother of Jin Ah’s best friend. While the relationship between Joon Hee and Jin Ah has always been platonic, this time, things might change.

Does ‘Something In The Rain’ Have A Happy Ending?
Fortunately, the k-drama ‘Something In The Rain’ does have a happy ending. Despite all the social obligations, age gap, and other problems, Jin Ah and Joon Hee end up together in each other’s arms. Although the happy ending took its own time to happen, it did. But unfortunately, the happy ending isn’t worth it. The writers left a lot of plot holes behind. With ‘love’ being in question, there were a lot of options they could’ve tried. But they didn’t. The k-drama started out promising but as it reaches the end, the story starts becoming abrupt. The chemistry that starts off pretty good with sparks and butterflies all around soon comes to a stop as the k-drama reaches halfway.

Other than the love story, the k-drama had other plotlines going as well. For example the behavior of Gyu Min or the sexual harassment in the workplace or the friendship between Jin Ah and Kyung Sun. The side stories hold a lot of weight for the main story to work and have a ‘happy outcome’. But the writers completely ignored it and handled the stories in the worst possible ways just to make the lovers end up together.
What Happens At The End of ‘Something In The Rain’?

As we remember, Joon Hee left the country and went on to the States. In her forties all alone, Jin Ah was still single. Taking a step forward this time, Jin Ah goes on to resign from her job and move to Jeju, leaving everything behind. On the other side, even though he loved Jin Ah, he didn’t have enough courage to ask her to come to the States with her. He lived there all alone until one day, he couldn’t live without Jin Ah anymore. Packing his bags, he came back home. As soon as Joon Hee comes back to South Korea, the two lovers reunite in each other’s arms.
