On July 29, 2024, Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc. announced the English voice cast for the upcoming Dandadan anime. Abby Trott will voice Momo, and AJ Beckles will voice Okarun. This announcement comes ahead of the world premiere of the English dub, which will be held at the Main Stage of Anime NYC on August 24.
Trott and Beckles will attend the event, joined by Shion Wakayama, Natsuki Hanae, and MBS producer Hiroyuki Aoi for a panel discussion and screening.
Abby Trott and AJ Beckles Express Excitement for Their Roles in Upcoming Dandadan Anime
Abby Trott, recognized for her roles as Nezuko in Demon Slayer and Shizuka Mikazuki in ZOM 100: Bucket List of the Dead, expressed her excitement, saying, You are not ready for DAN DA DAN… As soon as I saw a clip of Science SARU’s immaculate animation, I knew this was something special.”
This show is absolutely electric. It’s hilarious, disturbing, beautiful, weird, dramatic, and raw – and I’m so excited to be voicing Momo in the animated telling of this EPIC manga! Ready or not…”
AJ Beckles, known for voicing Takemichi Hanagaki in Tokyo Revengers and Shiki Tademaru in Kemono Jihen, also shared his enthusiasm.
“Being a part of DANDADAN in any capacity is a dream come true. I’ve been a fan of the manga for a couple of years now,” Beckles shared. “Hanae-san is an incredible actor! The honor of playing his counterpart, Okarun, in the dub was something I never imagined I would be granted!
“Tatsu-san is a master of his craft, and I truly believe this is one of those rare roles/stories that come around only once or twice in a lifetime. I am treating it with the utmost respect and care because of that. I can’t wait to present my take on this awkward character, and I want to assure every fan who has been waiting for this adaptation that they have nothing to worry about. This will be a masterpiece!” he added.
The Dandadan anime, produced by Science Saru, is set to premiere in October 2024. It will be available for streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

Fuga Yamashiro will direct the anime adaptation, with Hiroshi Seko handling the scripts. Kensuke Ushio will compose the music, Naoyuki Onda will design the characters, and Yoshimichi Kameda will design the aliens and supernatural entities.
The opening theme, “Otonoke,” will be performed by Creepy Nuts.
