The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is shaping up to be a major storage commitment. The Nintendo eShop currently lists the Standard Edition at an estimated 84.9GB, though the final size could change before launch.
The game is scheduled to arrive on October 23, 2026, marking another major Call of Duty release for Nintendo Switch 2.
Players interested in trying the game before launch will need considerably less space. The Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta requires an estimated 38.7GB on Nintendo Switch 2 and runs from August 28 through September 1.
According to the official Call of Duty announcement, Switch 2 players can access the beta without pre-ordering and try Multiplayer, the campaign mission “Entrenched,” and Call of Duty: Warzone content. The beta also supports Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, gyro controls, HDR, handheld play, cross-play, and cross-progression.
The 84.9GB figure applies to the current Standard Edition listing and does not account for potential future updates, which could increase the storage requirement after launch.
