A new Boruto anime movie may be in development, according to an unverified leak circulating among Naruto fans. The rumour has gained attention following an earlier anonymous post that reportedly predicted the announcement of the delayed Naruto 20th anniversary specials and their connection to the anime Ninku.

According to CBR, the latest claim appeared on 4chan’s Anime & Manga message board on October 31, 2026. The anonymous poster reportedly mentioned several projects connected to the wider franchise, including a second theatrical Boruto movie, an anime adaptation of the Minato Namikaze one-shot manga, a new video game, and casting news for the upcoming live-action Naruto film.

However, none of these additional projects has been officially confirmed by the franchise’s rights holders. The earlier prediction has encouraged fans to examine the new leak, but it does not establish that the movie is actually happening.

Boruto Movie Rumour Raises Questions About the Omnipotence Arc

One of the biggest questions surrounding a potential Boruto movie is which manga storyline could receive a theatrical adaptation. Some fans believe the film could cover the Omnipotence Arc, a major storyline that concludes the first part of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

The arc revolves around Eida’s Omnipotence ability, which dramatically alters how people perceive Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki. The resulting switch in their perceived identities changes the direction of the story and leads directly into Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Adapting this storyline for cinemas could provide a bridge between the original anime and a future adaptation of the sequel manga. However, there is currently no official confirmation that this is the story being considered.

Naruto’s Project Rasengan Roadmap Adds to the Speculation

The rumour arrives as the Naruto franchise prepares for an expanded slate of projects under Project Rasengan. At New York Comic Con 2026, the official franchise team revealed plans spanning anime, manga, games, and other initiatives.

Confirmed announcements include a four-episode Naruto x Ninku crossover anime, a worldwide release of the Naruto Card Game in June 2027, and plans to bring the Naruto Mobile game to international audiences. The event also teased a new manga by original creator Masashi Kishimoto.

The official Project Rasengan roadmap also lists a new Naruto TV anime limited series, but it does not identify this as a second Boruto movie.

The timing is significant for Boruto, which celebrated the 10th anniversary of its manga debut in 2026. A theatrical adaptation of the Omnipotence Arc could generate interest in the sequel series, but fans should wait for an official announcement before treating the rumoured film as part of the franchise’s confirmed plans.

For now, the possibility of another Boruto movie remains speculation. The next major opportunity for official updates is Jump Festa 2027, scheduled for December 19–20, 2026, where further information about the franchise’s upcoming projects is expected.
