The official website for the Blue Lock anime revealed a teaser visual and announced additional cast members for its upcoming second season on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The teaser visual highlights the players who will be central in Season 2, and the new cast members revealed are for the characters Hiori Yo and Nijiro Nanase.
The anime’s first season wrapped up with the conclusion of the Second Selection Arc. This arc ended with Ego Jinpachi announcing an important match between the Blue Lock eleven and the Japan U-20 team, setting the stage for the Third Selection Arc in the second season.
Blue Lock Season 2 Teaser Visual and New Cast
In the teaser visual, the players showcased include Yoichi Isagi, Rin Itoshi, Ryusei Shidou, Seishiro Nagi, Meguru Bachira, Sae Itoshi, Tabito Karasu, Yukimiya Kenyu, Eita Otoya, Nanase Nijiro, and Hiori Yo. These players are poised to play significant roles as they compete to secure spots in Blue Lock’s starting eleven for the upcoming match against the Japan U-20 team.
Hiori Yo and Nanase Nijiro, in particular, will be crucial as they team up with Isagi during the selection process. Hiori Yo is known for his exceptional ball-keeping and passing abilities, as well as his keen sense for reading opponents’ movements. On the other hand, Nanase Nijiro, while not having standout physical attributes or special skills, is recognized as a solid striker.

The newly announced cast members for these characters are Eiji Mikami, who will voice Hiori Yo, and Kakeru Hatano, who will voice Nanase Nijiro. Eiji Mikami has previously voiced minor roles in series such as “Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World,” “Horimiya: The Missing Pieces,” “Love Flops,” and “Tomodachi Game.” Similarly, Kakeru Hatano has also voiced small roles in “Shangri-La Frontier” and “FLCL: Shoegaze.”
