Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity is preparing for its final two episodes, and the anime has confirmed an important casting announcement before the series reaches its conclusion.
According to the official Bleach anime account, the new voice cast for Kazui Kurosaki and Ichika Abarai will be revealed alongside comments from the performers in the September 28 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. The announcement is particularly significant because Kazui and Ichika represent the next generation of the Bleach story and appear in the manga’s final epilogue.
The official announcement states that the cast and their comments will be revealed on September 28, with the anime now only two episodes away from completing its adaptation of Tite Kubo’s manga.
Kazui is the son of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue, while Ichika is the daughter of Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai. Their arrival takes place after the Thousand-Year Blood War and provides a look into the lives of the surviving characters years after the battle with Yhwach.
The Final Episodes Will Adapt Bleach’s Epilogue
The casting announcement arrives during a production break for The Calamity. The anime’s final two episodes were delayed as the production team works on the conclusion, with Episode 49 scheduled for October 19 and Episode 50 following on October 26.
That means fans will learn who voices Kazui and Ichika several weeks before they actually appear in the anime. The reveal could also provide the first substantial look at how the anime has adapted the characters’ designs for the final episodes.
The original manga introduced Kazui and Ichika in its concluding chapters, giving readers a brief look at the future of the series. The anime has already expanded several portions of the Thousand-Year Blood War compared with the manga, making the treatment of its ending one of the most anticipated aspects of the adaptation.
The official Bleach website currently lists the returning Japanese cast, including Masakazu Morita as Ichigo, Yuki Matsuoka as Orihime, Fumiko Orikasa as Rukia and Kentaro Ito as Renji.
