While talking about his drastic weight loss, Big Boy explained that he looked back and recalled how he could feel all that new weight in her back.
He admitted to having gained all 111 pounds back, and soon his legs started to get all numb and one time, he was walking through the Burbank airport, and then he suddenly got short of breath and had to stop walking. This incident scared the radio host.
Big Boy admitted that he got a few wake-up calls after one came right after his mom passed away at the age of 57. She had several health complications that included diabetes, high blood pressure, and congestive heart failure. The radio host also got a huge wake-up call after his good friend and rap star, Christopher “Big Pun” Rios, passed away, and he weighed less than him.

Big Boy revealed that he got his first big wake-up call after going through a major health scare that he suffered due to a Duodenal Switch, which is an extreme gastric reduction surgery, that he underwent in September 2010.
The artist further revealed how he had to fight for his life a couple of times after the surgery and recalled how he was in the intensive care unit for ten days. The popular radio host recalled how he was being fed through a feeding tube and was having multiple blood transfusions, which was rather awful. The radio host also pointed out that surgery for weight loss should always be someone’s last option.
Big Boy admitted that he should have worked harder to take the weight of his own and not turn to weight-loss surgery as his first resort.
He was also shedding a considerable amount of weight after following an on-air challenge by good friend and popular actor Will Smith, who willingly offered to donate $1,000 to the charity of his choice for every pound Big Boy would lose. Big Boy revealed how he was able to drop more than 111 pounds through diet and exercise but admitted that his mind was still not right about his eating habits.
