Avatar: Seven Havens has made a strong early impression on critics, debuting with a reported 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes following its premiere on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026. The latest animated series in the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise introduces a new Avatar and takes the story into a world transformed by a devastating catastrophe.
The series had earned its perfect critics’ score from 17 reviews at the time of reporting. Its audience score stood at 80% from more than 100 ratings, although both figures could change as more viewers watch the show and additional reviews arrive.
The early reception comes as Paramount+ has confirmed that Avatar: Seven Havens will continue beyond its first two books, with Books 3 and 4 also ordered. The renewal was announced during New York Comic Con 2026, giving the new series a longer future within the franchise.
AVATAR: SEVEN HAVENS INTRODUCES A NEW AVATAR AFTER KORRA
Set 225 years after the events of The Legend of Korra, Avatar: Seven Havens follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers that she is the next Avatar. However, her position is far more dangerous than that of her predecessors. In this post-apocalyptic setting, people view the Avatar as a potential destroyer rather than humanity’s savior.
According to Paramount+’s official series page, Pavi and her long-lost twin sister, Nisha, must uncover the truth behind their origins while facing threats from humans and spirits. The sisters’ journey also involves protecting the Seven Havens, the remaining strongholds of civilization.
The series comes from Avatar: The Last Airbender co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Its new setting allows the franchise to explore a different era, with a fresh protagonist and a mystery surrounding the catastrophe that reshaped the world.

AVATAR: SEVEN HAVENS EPISODE RELEASE SCHEDULE
The first three episodes became available on Paramount+ on October 9. The remaining episodes of Book 1 are scheduled to arrive in weekly batches throughout October.
- October 16, 2026: Episodes 4–6
- October 23, 2026: Episodes 7–9
- October 30, 2026: Episodes 10–13
The first book contains 13 episodes, with Book 2 also planned to feature 13 episodes. Paramount+ has not yet announced a release date for the second book.
The series’ renewal for Books 3 and 4 provides additional room to develop Pavi and Nisha’s story beyond the initial 26 episodes. However, details about the later books, including their episode counts and premiere dates, remain unconfirmed.
With its early critical reception and a multi-book future already secured, Avatar: Seven Havens marks a significant new chapter for the animated franchise. Its post-apocalyptic setting and the unusual circumstances surrounding Pavi’s role as the Avatar set it apart from the journeys of Aang and Korra.
