Will Ospreay recently mentioned in an interview that while he was deciding between WWE and AEW, he had a phone conversation with AJ Styles about potentially joining WWE.
In an interview with Mark O’Brien of Irish Wrestling and Entertainment ahead of WWE Backlash, AJ Styles was asked about his phone conversation with Will Ospreay and his thoughts on the talent pool outside WWE.
“Listen, if he were a douchebag, I probably would have called on him to, you know, see if he wants to come here, see if we can agree with him. But I think he’s a great talent, and there’s a lot of them out there. It’s only a matter of time before we get to them.”
Will Ospreay also defended his decision to join AEW over WWE. Nonetheless, The Aerial Assassin will continue to be one of the biggest stars in AEW right now, and that is all that matters.
