The original Ace of Diamond anime, produced by Madhouse and Production I.G, ran from October 2013 to March 2016. The second season, Ace of Diamond Act II, picked up the story and aired from April 2019 to March 2020. With the new sequel confirmed, anticipation is building even though the broadcast date has yet to be revealed.

Ace of Diamond is more than just a story of a village boy’s journey to Tokyo to become a top pitcher. It offers a detailed portrayal of baseball in Japan through the experiences of its main character, Sawamura Eijun.

Sawamura, a left-handed pitcher, is scouted by Seidou High School on a baseball scholarship. Despite a heartbreaking loss in the national inter-junior high school tournament due to a wild throw, Sawamura remains determined.

His resolve catches the attention of Seidou High School’s elite baseball club, leading him to visit and eventually join them.
