2025 MAMA Awards: Saja Boys Collaboration Performance Officially Canceled Due to Tragedy
The highly anticipated “Saja Boys” collaboration performance, which was scheduled to take place on Day 2 of the 2025 MAMA Awards, has been officially canceled.
This decision is part of broader scaling-back efforts by the awards show in light of a recent tragedy.
Reason for Cancellation: Hong Kong Fire Tragedy
The primary reason cited for the cancellation of the special stage, along with other changes to the awards ceremony, is the tragic fire that occurred in Hong Kong.
In response to this devastating event, the 2025 MAMA Awards decided to scale back the grand nature of the ceremony out of respect and in recognition of the somber atmosphere.
Previous changes due to the tragedy already included the cancellation of the red carpet event ahead of the show.
On November 29, 2025, the cancellation was confirmed via official announcements from the entertainment agencies managing the participating idols.

KOZ Entertainment released a statement, explaining that BOYNEXTDOOR would no longer participate in the performance “due to the scaling down of the 2025 MAMA Awards.”
Similarly, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that TWS would not be participating in the scheduled performance.
The Canceled “KPop Demon Hunters” Collaboration
The canceled stage was set to be a special performance titled “KPop Demon Hunters,” featuring the song “Your Idol” by the project group Saja Boys.
The collaboration was highly anticipated as it was scheduled to bring together members from several popular fourth and fifth-generation K-Pop boy groups.
The lineup for the now-canceled performance consisted of five rising male idols:
- Leehan of BOYNEXTDOOR
- Wonbin of RIIZE
- Shinyu of TWS
- Park Gun Wook of ZEROBASEONE
- Han Yu Jin of ZEROBASEONE

While both BOYNEXTDOOR and TWS had already participated in Day 1 of the 2025 MAMA Awards on November 28, the cancellation of this collaborative stage highlights the immediate and necessary adjustments made by the awards ceremony producers following the events in Hong Kong.
The official statements concluded by asking for fans’ understanding regarding the change and extending thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the tragedy.
