The crime drama Professor T has always been in talks either because of its plot or something else, however, now we will look at all the filming locations of Professor T in this post. There have been many incarnations of Professor T, however, this post is about the British one starring Ben Miller in the lead role.
The plot of Professor T revolves around Cambridge University, the world’s most renowned university. Professor Jasper Tempest is of course a professor in the university who is very skilled and has OCD. However, the story changes completely when his former student who’s now a police detective asks for his help.
From there he gets totally involved in the investigation of the serial rapist who has been a serious threat to the university.
The cast of Professor T has Ben Miller as Professor Jasper Tempest, Frances de la Tour as Adelaide Tempest, Emma Naomi as DS Lisa Donckers, Andy Gathergood as DI Paul Rabbit, Barney White as DS Dan Winters, Juliet Aubrey as DCI Christina Brand, Sarah Woodward as Ingrid Snares, and Lucy Anna Richardson as Young Adelaide Tempest.
Where Is Professor T Filmed?
As you would have read before, Professor T is all about educational institutions and stuff related to it and thus, the crew needed that specific college backdrop for the filming of the show. However, to provide the full essence of the drama, several locations were used for the series, let’s check them all out.
Belgium
To all those who don’t know Professor T was inspired by a Belgian show of the same name. However, to pay homage to the original director, Dries Vos, the team decided to shoot some of the noticeable scenes in Belgium and voila, we see that all.
This was the most beautiful gesture made by the crew! The scenes and the building and everything were presented as Cambridge, and no one could ever guess that the place used is somewhere else or out of the essence of the storyline.
One of the specific spaces used to shoot was the Ursuline Institute in Belgium. This place has a history and because of its stained-glass Winter Garden which makes this place so aesthetically pleasing, the institute was used to shoot. The scene where Tempest and his police colleagues talking in the corridor was shot here.
Antwerp, Belgium
If you remember the third episode of the show, we saw many local streets, garden spots, and jewelry shops, all of which were located in Antwerp, Belgium. Even the shots of the karaoke bar are shot in the same city. The crew even stated that this place because of its bricks and building colours, gives all the feels of Cambridge.
Cambridge University, England, UK
Since we are talking about the British version of Professor T, how can we not move towards the UK? So, as you know the focus of the plot of the series is the Cambridge Univerity, and the same university located in England was used to film.
There was no other option other than the original Cambridge University to shoot the series. All the scenes of the college, be it the exterior scenes or the aerial scenes, all of them are shot in the same city and in the University. Even the street scenes outside the college are outside the University for real.
Numerous significant sequences in Professor T were filmed at various colleges of the same university. A West Court and a football pitch were also featured.
Jesus College, Cambridge University, England
The academic home of Professor Jasper Tempest seen in the series was actually set up in the Jesus College of the same university. Some of the very spots of Jesus College like Chapel Court, Chimney passageway, San Marco Horse statue, etc were also noticed in the show.
