This show was developed by Judge Juday after she went on a vacation to Ireland and saw how that country handles a bench with a panel of three judges. After that, she considered developing a program around that idea. To do it, she recruited some very good lawyers. And thus came along a terrific idea to develop the show. Hot Bench Premise
As part of the series, there is a three-judge panel that presides over small-claims cases and then debates the merits of the case in the chamber room before giving a judgment. Additionally, the format requires only two-panel members to agree on the verdict. Prior to joining the program, DiMango was a Supreme Court Justice in Brooklyn, New York, and Corriero worked for the New York State Court System. Acker was a practicing attorney before being selected. To avoid having to go through with a court case, the litigants agree to go on the show instead. This means that the show serves as an arbitration court in the same way that most televised court programs do.
For the first two seasons of the show, Larry Bakman served with Acker and DiMango on the panel. Bakman said in October 2016 that he was stepping down from Hot Bench to concentrate on his law business. Episodes aired on October 28, 2016, for Bakman and on November 1, 2016, for Corriero, with series creator Judy Sheindlin and her husband, former People’s Court presiding judge Jerry Sheindlin, appearing as special guests for the Halloween 2016 original broadcasts of Bakman and Corriero, respectively.

Where is Hot Bench Filmed?
Hot Bench is filmed in Sunset Bronson Studios Hollywood in California. Firstly, this building is also known as the Old Warner Brothers Studio, and the KTLA Studio. Secondly, in the 1940s and ’50s, a bowling alley operated out of the main structure on Sunset Boulevard. To make room for both KTLA tv and Paramount Pictures, the studio lot was split in half about this time. The actual address for the studio is 5800 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

Also, Gene Autry bought the entire property in 1963 and renamed it KTLA Studios when KTLA Television: Golden West Broadcasters was founded. Finally, the lot was bought by Hudson Pacific Properties in 2008 (as Sunset Bronson Studios). This was after being owned by Tribune Company in 1984. After that, in 1977 the City of LA classified the location as a Historic-Cultural Landmark for its significance in the annals of the motion picture industry.
