Ivar and Erik, formerly War Machine and then War Raiders in NXT, were a force to be reckoned with. However, their arrival on the main roster came with a new name – “The Viking Experience.” This was later changed to “The Viking Raiders,” but fans still preferred “War Machine.”
Legal Concerns Behind the Change
The reason for the name change had nothing to do with the Viking theme. In an interview, Ivar explained that Triple H told them “War Machine” conflicted with the name of an MMA fighter involved in a serious crime. Triple H worried kids searching for them online might find disturbing content.
Both Ivar and Erik are currently injured, and it’s unclear when they’ll return. Only time will tell what the future holds for this talented tag team.
