In a swift transition that has captured the attention of K-pop enthusiasts, rookie girl group USPEER has officially confirmed their return as a six-member unit.
On May 7, 2026, their agency, MW Entertainment, announced that the group is preparing for a June comeback, just one day after the formal announcement of the departure of their leader, Yeowon.
This upcoming release marks the group’s first project in approximately one year, following their debut with SPEED ZONE in June 2025, and signals a “new start” for the remaining members- Soee, Chaena, Daon, Sian, Seoyu, and Roa.
The announcement follows a period of significant change for the group.
Originally debuting under WM Entertainment, USPEER recently transitioned to the newly established MW Entertainment, led by former WM CEO Lee Won-min.
The agency stated that while the group has been reorganized, they have spent the hiatus “accelerating preparations” to present an upgraded musicality and visual identity.
This June release is expected to build on the momentum of their debut track “ZOOM,” which earned them recognition as “complete rookies” and sustained their top position on global K-pop voting platforms throughout early 2026.
The Departure of Yeowon: A Mutual Decision for Future Dreams
The transition to a six-member system comes after the conclusion of Yeowon’s journey with the team.
On May 6, MW Entertainment released a statement explaining that Yeowon had taken a period of rest and recovery since the second half of 2025.
Following extensive and careful discussions regarding her future direction, both parties mutually agreed to terminate her exclusive contract and end her activities with USPEER.
The agency expressed their sincere gratitude for her leadership, stating,
“We sincerely hope for her future endeavors” and asking fans to continue supporting her new beginnings.
The news was met with an outpouring of support from “PEER,” the group’s fandom.
Fans have reflected on the group’s journey since their pre-debut days, with many noting the difficulty of losing a leader and a founding member.
Despite the change, the agency has remained firm in its commitment to the remaining six members.
“Discussion is moving forward in a generally positive direction,” a source indicated regarding the internal atmosphere, emphasizing that the members are fueled by a “renewed determination” to honor their shared history while forging a fresh path forward.
A Transformed Image: What to Expect from the June Release
As USPEER prepares for their June return, the focus has shifted to the “upgraded appearance” promised by the label.
Industry observers are keen to see how the group will redistribute roles, particularly the leadership and vocal parts previously held by Yeowon.
The agency hinted that the upcoming album will feature more “mature and refined” music, moving beyond the high-energy rookie sound of their debut toward a more complex, conceptual “pure flow.”
This evolution is intended to showcase the individual strengths of the six members, who recently demonstrated their versatility on the reality program Hundred-Day Girl Group.
The June comeback is also a strategic move to capitalize on the group’s growing international presence.
Having maintained a strong foothold on charts in Hong Kong and other global markets during their hiatus, USPEER is positioned to be a major player in the mid-2026 K-pop landscape.
The agency’s focus on a “reorganized and upgraded” unit suggests that they are looking to turn this lineup change into a narrative of resilience.
As the members enter the final stages of album production, the K-pop community is watching closely to see how the “six-member USPEER” will redefine themselves on the global stage.
Stay tuned for official concept teasers and tracklist reveals as the countdown to June begins.
